In the case that individuals resident in the UK require representation here in Cyprus through a Power of Attorney for instance. Where can it be signed and witnessed. Can a local solicitor, JO, Notary do this or must it be done at a higher authority such as a consulate or embassy. |

When we bought our house in 1996 (?) our solicitor had POA. I don't remember him getting it authorised, but it was a while ago!! I'm fairly sure that it's still valid now. |

I am referring to where the individual is in the UK trying to allow POA out here, rather than being out here making it. |

Hi Doug, If the Power of Attorney is signed outside of Cyprus, by any person irrespective of their nationality, the signature on the Power of Attorney must be certified by: 1. The Cypriot Embassy or Embassy or any E.U. member country (this applies to all Country) 2. If the U.K. or E.U. member countries there is also the option to have it certified by a Notary Public, but then the signature of the Notary Public must be Apostile by the relevant Government Authority in that country. |
