This has nothing to do with me personally , however one person on the site has made serious comments towards another persons business activities , and now the person concerned has been made aware of this site .
Question :- would the Allegations made here be relevant in a law court if it were to get to a trail .

Thank you for your post.

This is defamation and off-course the other party has the right to go to the Court and ask for damages.

The damages will depend on the allegations made, what problem this caused the injured party as a person and to his business.

The Court will decide the damages.

The question must also be asked ,
If the allegations made are true or false, surely it would have to be proved that they
are false and if not then the other party would be able to counter claim .. ?

ie:
"I got fred bloggs round to paint my house and he made a right mess of it , I would definitly not recommend
him ? ."
This is not defamation but fact ..

It may be called a fact by you, but he may believe he did a good job and take you to court.

This is very true Trev.

Thats where you would have to let the courts decide , its a shame they dont have
a small claims courts like in the UK , that way the courts would not be backed up for years ..

Thank you very much for your response and more or less confirmation of what I had considered to be correct , I will pass this information on to the concerned party and they can then decide their personal course of action .
