Post subject: | Tenancy Agreement Query |
I have rented my current apartment for nearly 2 years. The owner and the lettings agency have fallen out and now the owner wants me to pay him direct. I have no problem with this at all but I have a question re the tenancy agreement. Obviously the existing agreement with the agents is now null and void because the “landlord” has terminated his agreement with them. I am still in the process of trying to get my deposit refunded from the agents and live in hope. My “landlord” has requested that I sign a new agreement with him which again is no problem. Here is the important bit. The Landlord is UK based and the agreement is a typical UK shorthold tenancy agreement. Will this new tenancy agreement be valid and enforceable in Cyprus ???, (not that I intend to do anything untoward). Thankyou for looking, I await your input with interest |

Rob From my (limited) knowledge with 'letting agreements' in Cyprus - none of them are strictly enforceable! |

Good afternoon, Usually the landlord pays the fees for the Agent, except if a different agreement was made. I will need to see the agreement before I can give any advise on it. You can e-mail it to me at: info@kalogiroulaw.com Regards Haris Kalogirou |
