Got a postal vote, like most in Cyprus. I actually live in UK for 30 weeks of the year, but I'll be in USA on GE day.

Voting Conservative.
Would not like to see what JC would do to the Economy and Defence.

Conservative. Mr Corbyn has shown his true colours by trying to gain points accusing the Goverments foreign policies for the atrocities on Monday. Absolutely disgusting and he should apologise to all those injured and to the families of all those murdered. Just 5 days on and he sjows absolutely no respect.

According to these posts, it doesn't look good for Corbyn & Co., does it ?
We are waiting for our postal votes.
If they arrive in time, our 'X's won't help him either.

We have decided not to vote
As none of the parties give what we want
We want Conservatives for A strong Brexit
But we do not like their stance on the NHS, Police, Schools and Austerity, disabled , sick and unemployed people have been ripped apart by them.
And Corbin is to far left, he would open our doors even further to all of Europe, give a soft Brexit, get rid of our armed forces and hates the Royal Family
So stuck with no one

So .... anyone who has the option of being able to vote ... but does not exercise that option .... will have no right to complain about the result !
To pass the responsibility onto others may give away some of your preferred wishes, encompassed by one party, even if you do not totally agree with it.
No political party is infallible ..... We just have to select the lesser of the evils .... and hope that anything we disagree with might be 'tweaked for the better' in the future.

Sorry Migmogs but I have to agree with SFD. Please do not waste your vote. No one party will ever deliver everything you personally want so you just have to decide what is most important to you and vote for who you think will deliver it.
I personally belueve that BREXIT is the most important issue from which all else will stem and if we get that right then a better NHS,schools ,policing will follow (hopefully!!)

No blame to anyone

I don,t think that we are on our own on this issue

And I do not think that we will waste our vote
I believe in May for Brexit...but the conservatives are hurting our lowest most vulnerable people in society...I know of people who are really sick and ill and not being given sick pay ESA because thy now do not fit a box...though thy have worked all of their lives...people who are completely disabled...losing their benefits for a car ..because again they do not fit in a box...people are not boxes...they are real... and the NHS is of deep concern to me...living here ... makes it even more important to me...for what is available on our great NHS

A lot of people now are stuck with no one to vote for
We are NOT far right and we are NOT far left
We are on the middle
And no one out there is in the middle

I am just being honest

Migmogs. Your vote is of course yours to do with as you wish but having voted Brexit I really do think you need Mrs.May to carry it out for you.
There is a lot of very negative media and opposition hype being bandied about regarding benefits and the disabled etc and that people will lose their homes for being old and sick. Of course there are a few well documented stories of some individuals but the vast majority of us are well looked after by the NHS and the benefit system. Winter fuel allowance going to rich people makes no sense so I think that this is a good move to free up funds for other services.Keeping your home and deferring payment of nursing home fees until you and your spouse have passed on while still allowing £100K inheritance for your children also seems a fair system to me. If your care costs are relatively small compared to the selling price of your house then only that amount will be taken ,not all of it over £100K. It would be a shame to waste a vote that women died for so that you could exercise that right.
Hope you and Ed are keeping well and happy over there.x

Strange with the passage of time how people forget things, for those that have forgotten let me remind you.
When David Cameron and the Conservatives came to power after ousting Gordon Brown and his mob, they looked at the books, gasp the country was broke and it was broke. Labour had spent every penny and left a massive debt, a debt that would take decades to repay, that is why we have austerity, it has to be paid back hence cuts do you want again I do not.
So Tory or Labour your choice

I agree with Bev and so OK we don't yet know just who will still qualify for the winter fuel payment but at least they are having a discussion on it and lets face it that for the majority we will manage without it just as we did in Cyprus and the poorest will still receive it. It was appalling that the really wealthy received it as they do child benefit. I have lost count of the people who have told me that they don't need it and just save it for the kids.Well that is fine but why should the rest of us fund kids savings when it could help the NHS. Re the NHS I do appreciate that some areas are performing better than others but for us since returning here in February we have been surprised
at the level of care we have received. We have already been offered screening for bowel cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer. My husband's diabetes has been closely monitored and he has had apts for podiatry, eyesight, dietician already which I have to say was sadly lacking in Cyprus. If we need to see a Dr we ring the practice and a Dr rings you back to discuss and if they deem a consultation necessary you are seen that same day.

for me this is NOT about Winter Fuel Allowance or even my pension, which I still do not have

yes I want a strong Brexit

but it is also about the very sick and vulnerable friends of mine who are being left destitute from the thinking's of Conservatives

I cannot as much as i want a strong Brexit...vote for such a cruel hard hearted party...where a sick note from your dr to say that you are to ill to work...no longer works

Brain Anuerisms, with 9 hour open brain ops and being told from a specialist that you need 12 months recovery and cancer that leaves your body destroyed...means getting the sick benefit that you have paid into for all of your working life, but not with this government.....this government believes in not helping the sick and disabled...as both of my friends receive nothing.....our fabulous NHS is now at collapse

Corbyn...is an absolute no go from every corner

in our eyes they are both horrendous

there is more to this vote than Brexit

their are people suffering and worrying each and every day

and we have marched with our feet

The only party with a sniff of power that will deliver Brexit is the Conservative Party. We have waited for years to get a chance to get out of the European Union. If you want Brexit, don't waste that opportunity by not voting. The rest can all be sorted out later.

What's the difference between 'other' and 'none of the above'?

Why not a tick box for 'unable to vote'?

Migmogs I obviously don' t know your friends circumstances but I do know lots of people who are receiving sickness and disabled related benefits. My niece has recently recovered from breast cancer and was keen to return to work because she wanted to feel "normal" again but until that time she was in receipt of sickness benefits. Disability benefits are much harder to claim now I agree but before I retired I worked with people with disabilities (some very severe) and they were all keen to work and live their lives. It was my job to persuade the employers to give them a chance. There are many many people who are still abusing the system and unfortunately trying to stop these occasionally impacts unfairly on the genuine cases. I can remember some years ago attending an Appeals Tribunal for people claiming Disability Benefits. Little did one woman realise that she was being watched as she got out of the car and literally ran into the centre and then walking into the assessment room she was hunched up and leaning heavily on her stick( held in the wrong hand!!) From my experience then ,over 10 years ago, I would say that only 40% were genuine cases.

I also worked in the assesment for disabilities. One lady I called on thought I was a sales person and glibly got out of her power'chair and walked perfectly normal to the kitchen and around the the house making tea and providing me with biscuits. When the door bell went she ran to the chair and said to me That might be social and used the chair to go to the door.

As stated above most of the people I saw were genuine. It is the bad apples in the barrel that is the problem.

We all know there are a few bad apples in the barrel....and they DO need getting out..but the majority of people are true sick and disabled people who are being refused and stopped of their benefits....Austerity has gone too far and has hit the most vulnerable in our society

I also think that Labour groomed a culture of benefits and that that also was wrong! And I absolutely disagree with Labours Corbyn for me the man is truly awful

But trying to put a disabled and sick person into a tick box...to save money also does not work.

This is something that I feel very strongly about

This and the NHS, Schools and the services

There is for me no party out there right now who I could vote for with an honest heart.

Yes I want a strong Brexit...and yes I truly believe that Mrs May could deliver that..

but not at the expense of the poor, sick and disabled

There is, as I said before now no party that I could honestly vote for at all at the moment

So I am for this election declining my vote

It's not just Corbyn though is it but the whole of his now shadow government. I cannot see one of them who is capable of running the country and it says it all when even the new Manchester Mayor came out yesterday saying he did not agree with Corbyn.

Judging by all the polls, in UK and on forums here, Corbyn has zero chance of being elected.
However the gap is narrowing and it looks to me that the Conservatives will finish up with an overall majority of about 30.
For us here in Cyprus I hope that then the strong leadership and stability of the new Govt will result in a better £>€ exchange rate; it took a tumble (after rising post-referendum) due to the snap election having been called.
May I say thanks to all Forum Members who have voted in the poll, and I hope even more will do so - it is a secret poll.
Geoff.

"Strong and Stable", eh?

Is Theresa May going to send a stand in to represent her in the Brexit negotiations too, I wonder?

Weak and Wobbly is her name from now on...

Weak and wobbly my backside!! The woman cannot win. She has said all along that she will not take part in tv debates. End of story. Now if she had changed her mind and agreed to take part she would have been accused of being weak too !
I think the tories should publish Mrs Mays punishing schedule this week and note that she has put COBRA meetings ,G7 etc before her own political aspirations. In my opinion this last terrible week has shown just how strong that she is.

Mrs T.May has guts, determination and a strong back bone. Attending summits chairing international meetings. I would compare to the likes of that very famous PM .......Winston Churchill. :uk :england :wales :sweaties

Is Theresa May going to send a stand in to represent her in the Brexit negotiations too, I wonder?

Weak and Wobbly is her name from now on...

I cannot understand your vile procrastinations. Glad your over there. Stay away please.

This is just incomprehensible. FF makes just one post and she gets jumped upon like this.

"Vile procrastinations"? What!! For daring to say something against St. Theresa?

Yes, FF is over here, where the election is actually happing for real.

TM is like Winston Churchill? Seriously!!

Weak and wobbly my backside!! The woman cannot win. She has said all along that she will not take part in tv debates. End of story. Now if she had changed her mind and agreed to take part she would have been accused of being weak too !

She already agreed to appear on this one.... because it isn't a debate!
It's a direct Q&A programme so no debating between them and that's the reason she agreed to it. She wouldn't have to go head to ahead against anyone so she doesn't need to have her usual script to stick to....

Actually, no - I don't!

I follow social media which gives a much broader view of things..... strangely enough, this particular item of news has been buried by certain reporting channels.

Perhaps you would like to show me where it states that she agreed to it? I believe she is already on tv tomorrow as is Jeremy Corbyn. I note that the SNP are also sending their deputy so that is 3 leaders who won't be there.
I really cannot understand why any leader should feel that they have to attend anything just because the media say they should.

Ah, that explains a lot!

These days, unfortunately, there are too many that 'travel with the herd' & like Lemmings ultimately fall off the cliff of their own making. :doh

Whats the big deal? Personally as far as politics are concerned you could say....well....I,m on the fence so to speak.Why?.has there been any "big deal" changes historically which ever party has got in power. Bearing in mind the tragic events in Manchester what political party will put a stop to it once and for all.Except of course some other extreme left or right wing party which will never happen,so back to status quo.....Now where did I put my morning cuppa before it gets cold

Sadly our poll appears to be at odds with the latest polling from the UK...

I voted for Theresa May as you might have gathered... ;)
