We took our Grandaughter to the Duck Pond Market on Sunday...we were very saddened to see two squealing guinea pigs for sale there :(
The poor little things had no food, filthy water and in the sun.
Of course our grandaughter wanted to buy them and was rather upset when we didnt (we all know that if we did as much as I wanted to,they would bring more next week :( )
Is there any rules at the market concerning the sale of live animals?...as I really dont want to see this again, and have an upset girl :(
Two men were selling them for Euros50 with cage!!
Disgraceful !!

I did see someone selling goldfish once , but that was it ,
It must have been unwanted pets , not general animals for sale ..
But then what about pet shops that sell animals , if there was no pet shops , no one would have pets ??

Yeah, but I presume pet shops take a bit more care for the animals they're trying to sell, rather than leaving them in the sun with no food, and filthy water.
If they're going to sell animals at a market, the least they can do is give them some shade, clean water, and something to nibble on.

NB
Protesting PC brigade members & radical vegetarians might like to take note Tanny lives in Kallepia. as there are only 2 houses and a taverna in that village, he is not hard to find. Its the house always for sale. :smilielol
