You will all remember this song by a great guy who has recently passed away but any other favorites?

Oh blimey - my lost youth... Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, Hamish Imlach, The Mcalmans. Fred Wedlock, Jake Thackeray, Johnny Silvo and Dave Moses, Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention, Arlo (and Woodie) Guthrie, Ewen McColl and Peggy Seeger, The Chieftains (but not the Dubliners), Martin Carthy, Alex Campbell, Steeleye Span, Alain Stivell, Pentangle, The Albion Band, Richard and Linda Thompson, Planxty, The Boys of the Lough, Aly Bain, Lindisfarne, Crowdy Crawn, Skinners Rats. So many more, I've forgotten! If it wasn't folk it was prog rock - we went to a lot of gigs in those days!

Pete Seeger was a beacon in the music world, and caught the spirit of his time. A great loss.

Of course, many of Lesley's list are still gigging and well worth seeing. I think many would be surprised at the quality and excellence of the current folk scene with it's new young breed. Just put the Spinners out of your mind and you will be OK  .

Ok, so that last bit was a bit unfair. They were good at what they did. In fact, Mick Groves is still gigging. I met him for a coffee at the harbour a few years ago and discovered he was a really nice bloke.

Great posts by Lesley & Joseph & some of those names bring back great memories but a little challenge now to those who follow the music section

You must be sick to death seeing Poppy starting most topics so lets get a new one from one of you music lovers :celebrate

Reminded me that we had been promised some new quizzes here in 2014
