Anyone been to any? The news that Richie Havens Woodstock folk hero has died prompted the topic

This clip shows the man but music is muted as a respect of reverence

We went to Glastonbury in 1998 with acts that included Bob Dylan & Robbie Williams. OH was not too happy sleeping in the car but with such a great atmosphere she
soon forgot her aches & pains

Been to plenty in my day. Monsters of Rock at Donington, Reading Festival and various at Knebworth (which was walking distance from where I lived).

One of the most memorable was Slade playing at Reading in 1980. Ozzy Osbourne was booked to play but cancelled at short notice and Slade were booked 2 days before the gig. They had been going through a bad patch and the gig was intended to be their farewell performance but they absolutely stole the show. I remember Noddy Holder shouting at the crowd without a microphone, but you could definitely hear him right round the place. On their final encore they had run out of songs so asked what the crowd wanted to hear and everybody shouted "Merry Christmas Everybody" which they duly played on August bank holiday weekend!

Can't find any video of it but here is an audio clip.

Just thought of another one!

Back in 1990 we went to the Nordoff Robbins (music charity) concert at Knebworth where Pink Floyd were headlining. Went with the good lady and one of her friends who were more into Barry White. I have never been a big Floyd fan but knew of their reputation as a live act. Came to the bit where they were about to come on stage and, as it was chucking down with rain, the ladies decided they wanted to skip it and go home early. I suggested we stay at least for the start and this came on and we just stood there in the rain right to the end. Absolutely awesome performance!
