just looked at the 10-day forecast from weather.com and it seems to think temps are gonna drop off again for a few days next week as another Siberian wotsit floats down to us presumably bringing high winds before it and lots of cold air .... brrrrr ... another more than 2 or 3 days is normally wrong though .... isn't it ? Coptic storm due on/around Monday next week too

Can't do the windows today as it takes me a whole day to do them. Why have I got so many windows?

Well it's a little cold here in Peyia - but there's little bright spells. Don't mind if it's cold, just don't like dark days.

No hot water for me though - my water heater only seems to work if it's been kickstarted with a small amount of sunshine. brrrrrrr.

Oh Yvonne - no hot water I can't do without it although I do if needs must, but that is why I am still on the computer waiting for the water to heat up so I can have a shower or the other ladies will be moaning at me this afternoon.

We were all given a false impression thinking that spring had come - it is all the spring flowers that are appearing and we have been stung again.

Only planted some seeds on Sunday thinking it is warm enough for them to germinate outside.

My nan, mum & her fella came to see us in Oct2006 and had a week of intense thunderstorms, so when they booked to come again in February i was like "oh no. that is the wettest month". So they left yesterday after a bright dry week that allowed us to be outside and see some of Cyprus, the day they leave it clouds over

I must be doing something wrong in my house, its ME that is responsible for windows (in fact most things outside) ... is that normally womans job ?!

Well I don't want to rub it in but it's a cracking day here in sunny Rochdale! I even had the roof of the car at lunchtime :) :auto

It's been lovely and sunny since last Saturday but very cold at night time.

Yep you're right, thats what the military call cleaning toilets with toothbrushes & painting grass green for inspections & bullnights every week, sometimes twice, making sure you're able to bounce a coin off your bedpack & all your uniform is squared away, before bulling the floors to a shine, so some greasy numbnuts in black boots walks across it to inspect everything while wearing a white glove :)

I'm afraid you women don't know what it means to clean, your spring cleans are a dust round compared to what the military have to do once, maybe twice a week

Morning all

I have to say Pete, My fella is in the Army and he is the most untidiest person I have ever met! That is when he says over at mine
However he is very anal about his kit though to the point I refuse to iron it for him

Lisa

Typical responses from people who think dusting is a quick spray of Mr Sheen & a wipe over with a soft cloth

Hi Lisa,

So your OH is a pongo, that would explain it, his kit is more important than your property, as he can get away with being a slob away from duty but if his superior catches him with a dirty uniform, its worse than a quick yelling from you

I bet his room on camp or quarters is squared away to inspection standards & not a spec of dirt anywhere

I've seen service men & women charged for having a spec of dirty/dust on the toecap of their parade shoes, meaning they get 7 days of cleaning kitchens, scrubbing toilets, trimming grass with a pair of scissors & still have to stand parade at 6pm every nite in full no1's :(

Pete I wouldn't say he smelt exactly

Saying that I can deny him certain priviledges that he can't get in the Army

 Pongo is a pet name for the Army by the other branches of the military

As for denying him priviledges he can't get in the Army  well that a very bold statement, having been in the military myself, there's not much we can't get
