Looking into the possibility of buying a Dreambox satellite system and would be grateful for comments from users. Also need information on suppliers and costs. Cheers

I to am going to go with a dreambox
but my house wont be ready for another year.
I was told that you dont need a big dish, 1.5 will do
but you need to have broadband internet, which is not a problem.
they say that they can pickup anything.
but dont know if thats true ..

And what is a Dreambox I've never heard of one of those

If you put Dreambox into google search you will get all the information on the various satellite boxes that are available. It enables card sharing for satellite TV, not strictly legal , but hey ho

I was aware about the legality of them, but I have never heard of anyone in cyprus getting into trouble with them.
I am sure most of the pubs in paphos are using them ..

Saying that, isn't Sky Satellite illegal in Cyprus too

Well according to many it is because its only suppose to be broadcasted in the UK

Oh well, thats 90% of Cyprus breaking the law right away

If i remember correcly the T+C's of the Sky card card say it is to remain in the UK as property of Sky who may request its return or replacement at any time.

The reason is to ensure that licensing given to one countries TV firms doesn't interfer with those in another.

Example Sky UK buy rights to Lost program as do some firm in France, the French signal is available in UK and its "freeview"so Sky UK have paid their cash for the program but people can receive it in their licensed area without going through them. queue angry TV company.

Dreambox sytems are clever as they allow sharing of the decryption information across multiple set top boxes.

I must admit
I do like the idea of them..
