Hi All,

Are there any other ex-pupils of St. Johns School at Epi out there, like me? :greetings

There is a 50 th Anniversary Reunion taking place 23/24th of this month.

The following is from Facebook posted by an ex teacher keen to promote the event:

'Dear Former Inmates!
I am writing to ask if you could 'spread the word' that there will be a Gala
Ball on 24th April 2010 to mark the Golden Jubilee of the opening of St
John's School. The school will be open to visitors on Friday 23rd, and
special events will be organised to allow the pupils to meet past students,
teachers, etc in an informal atmosphere. On the evening of 24th a dinner
and dance will be held at the Episkopiana Hotel - fully inclusive, with an
international buffet for 35 Euro per head.
It is obviously very short notice for those from 'abroad' but we are anxious
to use every possible means to bring the event to the attention of those who
attended St John's at any time during the 50 years.
I would be particularly grateful if any of you who are associated with ex-St
John's websites, etc would submit the information to those groups.

Your assistance in this would be greatly appreciated.'

Myself and Mrs M are going and staying at the Episkopiana (60 Euros for a double).
Some of my (very!) old teachers and some ex classmates are attending from UK, so really looking forward to it :celeb2

If you are interested please call the school (2596 3888) for more info or PM me.

Apologies Neil/Martin if this is not in the correct place.

Just wanted to get the word out ASAP as a lot of friends of mine would have attended given more notice.

Thanks,

Ian

No worries mate - it's actually perfect timing as it affords me the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the new events forum in action - observe how the shadow topic remains in the main forum, pointing the way to those to whom it may apply!

50th Anniversay reunion though?? Really didn't think you were that old!

Hi Martin,

It is actually the 50th Anniversary of the school. I attended 79-82 and somehow the teachers there managed to get me to attain 7 'O' levels :congrats

This then led to my illustrious 22 year career in the RAF (hence Sgt Mediocre) :D

Some of those miracle workers are in attendance next week and I wanted to spread the word :greetings

No problem re the opportunity to demo new practices on the forum

Maybe there aren't any SJS old boys/girls on PP?

Regards,

Ian

PS well done the Toon and Chris Hughton deserves a lot of credit IMHO :congrats

Have you tried Facebook and/or Friends Reunited? They'll probably have groups for the school which will make it easier to contact loads of people in one go.

Have to admit I'm warming to Comrade Chris Hughton - he's done an absolutely brilliant job in the circumstances!
