Hi

I hope this comes out properly!!!!!

My family and I will be joining the lucky ones of you that live in Cyprus in September 2010!!!!! We have sorted somewhere to live and a school for my son as we have had this planned for a few years now.

The only problem I am having is with finding a container company I have lots of quotes but if anyone could help with any information I would appreciate it very much.

Names of any companys used and rough prices would be useful.

Also some are telling me now that it is 5/6 weeks to reach limassol? Others 4 weeks?

Its beginning to do my head in now!!! :banghead

Put your car in the container then its send your car by the Ro ro??

So if anyone could let me know their experiences I would be alot happier!!!
Thank you

I used Andrews shipping when I came over in 2006 then there charges £60 per cubic metre (or part off) and took 13 days from when goods left Southampton until arrival in Limmasol. They arranged with all the documents this end and a local agent delivered to me in Kissonerga. From collection of goods from Birmingham, delivered to Southampton, shipping, local agents fees for delivery here cost approx £700. I think that was for about 6 cm. I never paid anything until I received my goods in Kissonerga. I packed & labeled all the goods myself. I also used them to ship my car over. I drove it down to Southampton and collected it 14 days later from Limmasol docks. The agent was the same guy that delivered my goods and was very helpful and sorted all the paperwork out at the docks for my car.
I can not fault them they were efficient and after a lot of the quotes I'd had, £300 per cm- 3 mths delivery etc, found them to be very reasonably priced.

Hope this helps it bcan be a minefield

I used M & S as did Molly. I had 3 cubic metres, and it was £350, and that was in October 2006. I packed and labelled myself, and it was collected in the UK and two weeks later delivered to me in Kato Paphos. Excellent service - Molly has posted the contact information. Get as many quotes as you can, and look forward to meeting you when you get here :greetings

PS Welcome to the forum :greetings

Give me a call for a very competetive price
transit for a full container Uk to Cyprus is 12/13 days at sea plus a day or two at either end for positioning on board and customs etc on arrival

We brought two cars over in a container; superficial end damage to both, 'cos they were packed too close to one another (by the shipper, I might add). But nothing to worry about. Daughter brought her car over on a ro-ro - unbelievably cheap and fast!! HOWEVER, anecdotal evidence suggests that anything you leave on view inside a ro-ro car WILL get stolen. So do not pack personal belongings inside the car. Lloyd

Thanks for all the advice.

We are at the moment about to make a decision on the quotes we have had and we are thinking of putting our vehicle on a Ro-ro from Southampton at a very good price. I actually thought it would cost more then that!!!

Our household goods are going in 20ft container and that seems a good price to me as well!!!!

Just got to book it then we have a date that we can work too and then I can keep everyone posted on our experience!!!!

:D
