Paphos People

Have just come across a jumping spider with black and white stripes and nasty looking mandibles. Are they poisonous?

OMG i hope not we have loads in the house, even i have got used to having them about the house now and i HATE spiders! Someone, please tell me they arent poisonous.

I hate those little beggars.

You can't just whack them, they're way to quick!

It was one of those that had me running from the car in search of someone who would a) kill it or b) remove it humanely (I usually opt for A and so did the nice elderly cypriot chap who kindly assisted me.)

They get everywhere but I'm sure they're not poisonous (famous last words)

They're not shy - they don't tend to flee like most spiders, I had a whole nest outside my office of the jumping ones and they were forever popping their little spider legs over the top of my pc screen and scaring the crap out of me, always have my insect spray to hand, this doesn't kill, merely dazes them until I can get my candle stick holder and whack them!

Murder mystery solved:

It was yvonne, in the office, with the candle stick!

You know, I'm actaully paranoid now that they know I've been talking about them and are on their way!! I've moved office but I bet they'll find me. Where's my spray!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from town where I went to buy some bananas, I put them on the side with my newspaper, picked up the newspaper to read and a dirty great big black spider jumped out at me. It had a huge black body (size of a 5 pence piece) and long creepy legs, the newspaper was shook into bits and the spider disappeared into the ether of my dining room so if you hear a shriek its me!!! I HATE SPIDERS
