Just received this email informing me that I have a kings ransom wating to be collected, as long as I pay for collection, even tho it says they have already paid for delivery

How thick do these people think everyone else is:::

Greetings!

I am Mr. Wellington. I have been waiting for you ever since to contact me for your Confirmable Bank Draft of $1,243,000.00 United States Dollars, but I haven't heard from you since that time. So I went and deposited the Draft with FEDEX COURIER SERVICE, West Africa. Meanwhile, I've travelled out of the country for a 3 Months Course and will not be back till the end of March.

What I would advise you to do now is contact the FEDEX COURIER SERVICE as soon as possible to know when they would commence
the delivery of your package to you because of the expiry date. For your information, I have paid for the delivery Charges, Insurance premium and Clearance Certificate fee of the darft showing that it is neither connected to Drug Money nor meant to sponsor any terrorist attack in your Country. The only money you will send to the FEDEX

COURIER SERVICE to deliver your Draft direct to your postal Address in your country is ($215.75) US Dollars only being Security Keeping Fee of the Courier Company so far. Again, don't be deceived by anybody to pay any money more than $215.75
US Dollars for the Security Keeping Fee of the Courier Company.
You have to contact the FEDEX COURIER SERVICE now for the
delivery of your Draft with this information below;

Contact Person: Mr. Donald Roberts
Email Address: fedexdelivery701@live.com
Telephone: +(234) 8073379848

Finally, make sure that you reconfirm your Postal address and Direct telephone number to them again to avoid any mistake on the delivery and ask them to inform you of when your package would get to your address once it is on transit. Let me repeat again, try to contact them as soon as you receive this mail to avoid further delay and remember to pay them their Security Keeping fee of $215.75 US Dollars for their immediate action.

You should also let me know through email as soon as you receive your Draft.

Yours Faithfully,
Mr Wellington.

I know I don't have to tell anyone this but please DO NOT be taken in by any such emails, as its a scam to get you to send money for which you will not get anything in return, so please be careful :!:

You'd be surprised at how many do, that's why these people keep sending them out, as they know they'll get some poor person thinking that $215 isn't a lot compared to $1,243,000.00

typo "darft" - what you'd have to be to fall for this but sadly people do get taken in.
We receive, on average, 5 of these in the office every week, report them every time to no avail, what else can we do!

I think sometimes when you are low and vulnerable - as I have been and they seem so genuine if there is no money being asked for then you can fall for it, but fortunately I had the this web site to point me in the right direction.

HELLO FRIEND. Please i am sorry for the inconveniences and embarrassment this may look like but i wrote it with the heart of tears and sorrows as an orphan, seeking your understanding and help in the name of GodI am olivier kamara the only daughter of late Mr and Mrs christan kamara .My father was a very wealthy cocoa merchant in Abidjan , the economic capital of Ivory coast, my father was poisoned to death by his business associates on one of their outings on a business trip . My mother died when I was a baby and since then my father took me so special.
Before the death of my father on January 2005 in a private hospital here in Abidjan he secretly called me on his bed side and told me that he has the sum of ten million, five hundred thousand United State Dollars. USD $10.5m left in fixed / suspense account in one of the prime bank here in Abidjan ,that he used my name as his only daughter for the next of Kin in depositing of the fund. He also explained to me that it was because of this wealth that he was poisoned by his business associates. That I should seek for a foreign partner in a country of my choice where i will transfer this money and use it for investment purpose such as real estate management or hotel management . Dear, I am honourably seeking your assistance in the following ways:

(1) To provide a good bank account into which this money would be transferred into .
(2) To serve as a guardian of this fund since I am only 19years.
(3) To make arrangement for me to come over to your country to further my education and to secure a resident permit in your country.
Moreover, dear, i am willing to offer you 15% of the total sum as compensation for your effort/ input after the successful transfer of this fund into your nominated account overseas. Furthermore, you indicate your options towards assisting me as I believe that this transaction would be concluded within seven (7) days you signify interest to assist me. Anticipating to hear from you soon through this email for security reason.

These scammers are not as daft as some think. They put a lot of research into selecting their potential victims and only hand pick the most deluded, vulnerable, confused and gullible of people with the lowest IQ's.
Ha Ha

Thanks DP...it's a long time since anyone's made such flattering comments about me.   Trouble is that I think you're e-mail addy gets sold from one scammer to the next. It's hard to credit that anyone could fall for these, but I read somewhere that even a policeman fell for it once. Or was it a High Court judge? Lloyd

No offence Lloyd
Yeah I would say quite a lot of policemen and a few High Court Judges would fall into this category, no problem.
