Have been to the newish Vet practice in Peyia twice now and very impressed. I know they also do a lot of work with/for PARC.
I think their prices are reasonable and they offer good advice and also just as important the dog likes them!

Would thoroughly recommend them!

They also get my vote. :clap
The most caring vets I have come across in the area.
They have all the most up to date equipment and are very fair in their pricing. (took 4 x-rays charged for 1)
The biggest thing that impressed me was probably the smallest: They said goodbye to the dog when we left as well as us!!!!
Lovely people. :clap

I am thrilled with these vets. The best ones I have ever used anywhere in the world! So caring and they are keeping my Henry alive and witha good quality of life. The charges are so reasonable, when I received my bill I nearly laughed. I recommend them to everyone I know with a pet. Simply the best.

Easy.
Up TOTK road towards coral bay.
Turn right at first Peyia turn (just before roundabout)
Go up hill towards Peyia until you see newish tyre shop in a blue porta-cabin on the left (Huge tyre hanging from tree outside)
The vets is opposite next to the new post office.

Nice to see recommendations for vets. For anyone at this end, I would recommend Aris in Konia. Lovely fella, cheap and does an awful lot of work for CYDRA at really good rates.

Thanks for that, we need to take our pup to get him micro chipped etc to fly him back to the uk with us, so i want to get him all sorted and get info on booking him on a flight next year as i have been quoted a few quite high prices so we want to find out all the info and do it ourselves rather than pay a third party to sort it out for us.

Cyprusgal, I do hope you realise you have a long way to go before taking your pup back since you have not had him/her microchipped it means you have not had the rabies test done, so providing s/he has had his rabies injection you still have at least six months or more so I hope you are not in a hurry to go back to the UK.

Yes i have found out all the info for injections micro chip etc, i am returning to the uk at xmas but my husband is staying over here until our pup has the all clear to fly.But as i am going back before him i wanted to get all the info i needed so that my husband will only need to arrange the transportation side of it .We are going to start the procedure this weekend with his rabies jab so hopefully we will have most of the paperwork sorted before i go, so with a bit of luck all he will need to do is get a cage and organise his flight.

Hi Trish

Perhaps you could go through what needs to be done stage by stage? We have no intention of returning to UK but I suppose you never know what is around the corner so...... She is microchipped and has her innoculations up to date.
I know she would need a pet passport and what would she need for that and approx costs?
Also, once she has her passport what do you have to do to keep it up to date?

For example, I get her passported now but don't return to UK for 10 years?

Bossyboots will put on another thread the procedure as CYDRA used to do this, but since Eve has departed for Southern France we do not have anyone with the necessary experience to cover this (unless any volunteers people :D ), so I will post the document she did for me and others.

You need to have the vet record in the passport the annual rabies booster and other innoculations.

Pete

Thanks for this Trish and also Pete- I was just going to remind Trish of how to keep it updated when I saw Petes post so I assume just annual boosters for all vaccinations ensuring they are entered in the passport and the blood test etc lasts for ever?

Sorry if I am being thick!

Yes, just ensure you always get your annual booster done for the rabies, really important because if it lapses you could end up going through all the process again which is expensive - I know I have three of them all done just in case.

I have only just remembered to ask Dr Nikolas how much for pet passport and was pleasantly surprised - she has already been micro chipped so does not need that so the charge is €30 for the rabies jab and €110 for the blood tests etc - total price of €140 which I think is much cheaper than some of the Vets. Incidentally, we went today , the dog needed some tablets and had a good check over and the cost was €5 - yes not a misprint - the grand sum of €5!!

Perhaps if more people realised that the cost of a pet passport is not so bad more would have it done - could certainly save a lot of heartbreak - especially for the dogs!

Hi, can anyone help with the telephone number for the new vet clinic in Peyia please. I need to call to make an appointment quite urgently, I live in Pafos so not easy for me to just go there with the cat. If someone could pm me with the number it would be really appreciated. Thank you.

I only paid 20 euro for my rabies injection and 100 euro for the blood test. It is not these initial costs it is the actual cost of taking the dog or cat back as unfortunately with the UK they have to go cargo which is far more expensive than as excess baggage.

I think if I ever have to go back I would go to Germany, where I could take the dogs as excess baggage at only about 20 euro each, then get my mate who is a European long distance driver to pick me and the three dogs back and go via that route - must admit though I have not even looked into that possibility, but here's hoping.

What happens is people leave it far too late and do not realise that the six month quarantine rule still applies in a way, if the dog has only just been innoculated and blood test clear then the quarantine law applies if taken back to the UK - very expensive and not everyone has that sort of money.
