Anyone had one of these :?:

If so is it best to tell them when booking a table or to wait until you have had your meal :?:

Any opinions anyone :?:

Not had one, but I would definitely tell them when I am booking.

hi Molly,
have had them for Farmyard, Kathikas and one or two in Kato Paphos - the vouchers usually say that you must tell them when booking or arriving that you have a voucher. Haven't found any difference in quality of food or service with having a voucher.

Why not? It saves any misunderstanding at the end of a meal. If you have a voucher you may as well declare it at the beginning.

My friend and I used a voucher for a bottle of wine when we were on a business trip in Leeds. The voucher was given to us by the owner of the hotel we were staying in. We ordered the wine, and at the end of the meal when we asked for the bill we produced the voucher. The restauranteur told us it was now out of date. We hadn't checked because the hotel owner had told us about the bistro and gave us the voucher.

They honoured the voucher, which was very kind of them (especially as the bottle of wine was £14) but it was a bit embarrassing.

I certainly wouldn't declare it at the end of a meal, it would be before eating.

Just wanted people's opinions on whether to declare it when booking a table or when ordering.

I'm sure I read somewhere that when someone had said they had a voucher, they got crap service...

BTW there is no expiry date on it either....

Your first post asked whether to declare it at the end of a meal, which is why I said I wouldn't leave it til the end.

It doesn't really matter whether you declare it when booking or when ordering as if there is a problem at least you haven't eaten the meal and then got into an embarrassing situation.

They shouldn't give you crap service or food just because you have a voucher. They wouldn't want bad feedback, and would want to entice you to come back again as a paying customer, surely.
