Hi Guys

I am sure I read ‘somewhere’ on the forum, a recommendation for a ‘bank’ that had a really good rate for private medical insurance. (Think it was about €900 for a couple) Can anyone please remind me which bank it was or do you have any other companies you can suggest.

Thanks

Thanks Pete. Unfortunately this is an email address, not a web site, but thanks for trying

They don't have a web address on their card. I doubt that a website would be much use as all quotes would be bespoke anyway.

We gave up having medical insurance because, basically, they don't pay up when you need them to.

Put a few euros away each month and "pay as you go".

:?: PM me if the info is going to contravene forum rules but what company were you with?
What did they not pay for?

I was under the impression that if you are ‘retiring’ you had to prove you had medical insurance / cover for initial residency.
This is from the Ministery of the interior website.
Retired, non working:
A person retiring to Cyprus, or not working in Cyprus must show that they have:
Adequate income from legal sources such as pension, employment outside of Cyprus or another means to support themselves
Proof of funds in a Cyprus or overseas bank
Proof of comprehensive health insurance

Absolutely correct and they will ask for proof of cover if you don't have the appropriate NHS cover. However once you have your yellow slip they don't carry out any further checks.

We were with Atlantic, never claimed anything for 3 years and then Mrs Emgeeb broke her leg in an accident and they did everything to restrict her claim.

We now "pay as you go".
