Hi has anyone ever had a police check done for employment?
If so what is required and do they charge you for this service?
Cheers

Yes I have, but cant remember the cost ??
I can tell you its not much 20-30 euros
Go to the paphos police station take your pink slip and passport .
and tell them you want police check done ..
they give you the form to fill in , then take that to akis express get them to send it to
the nikosia address (get that at paphos police station) send it off , in few days it will be back ..

Not 100% sure about the price ??

lesley will know she has had it also ..

If you don't have your pink slip then you will have to go to Nicosia in person - if that's the case I can direct you to where you have to go - I took someone to get theirs

Hi there,

I have recently had a Police check done for work purposes. I can confirm that you need your residency slip.

I went to Nicosia Police HQ, as I needed it very quickly, I took my alien card and passport. They refused me without my yellow card. Made an appointment at immigration, (3 month lead time) I explained that I did not have the time to do that and they bent over backwards to accomodate me. I went in the next day with my MEU form filled out and with the documents they needed. They did my residency paperwork in a morning and even faxed it to Police HQ the instant it was done! :D The following day I received a call from Paphos Police to say that it was ready to pick up. The cost was €20.

As mentioned previously, you can download the form from the Cyprus Police website, fill it out and sent via Akis or Travel Express door to door. If you do it that way it takes approx 5 days. That is their estimation.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Jon

I also seem to recall that you cannot have a police check performed by the Cyprus police until you have been here for 6 months or more.

Someone who was applying for some kind of medical care position had a problem with it a while ago. Couldn't get a police check here as she hadn't been in Cyprus long enough and couldn't get it from UK as she had already left the country.

If you've made an appointment with immigration, this is usually acceptable if your residency permit is not (yet) one of the new permanent ones. I have to do this check every year and I take mine to the taxi office opposite the Axel Bookshop.
