You'll love it here - but a word of advice. Research the vacancies well in advance for the work you do as there may not be much around. If you can get a job before you arrive, you're made, but otherwise you can spend a lot of money waiting for something to turn up.

If you decide to start your own company, check out who else is doing it, as you're not familiar with companies here and there may be a glut in your field!

I hope this doesn't sound patronising but there's not a lot of work about just now..

Lesley

And by all accounts, don't plan on flying from a regional airport with Cyprus Airways into Paphos if you're arriving in the Winter

Ask as many questions as possible and bear in mind that any job you may get could be totally different than your chosen career in the UK. This is the time to take on a chance for a change and possibly do a job that you may have always fancied but were never in a position to do previously.

Most of all - Enjoy!

We've been here almost 7yrs now (in Limassol) and have enjoyed every minute of it. As yet, we have not been back to UK so something must be going right!

HI and welcome :greetings

I am one of the cheeky ones on here and therefore would like to ask which professions you work in. Just in case we can push some work your way or hear of any vacancies
:gossip

Thanks for this, sounds good.

Tony, I can see your phone being busy when you get over. A sensibly priced electrical/plumbing and refrigeration/air con
engineer could go down a storm. :clap
