Hi there,we have just moved to Agios Georgios, near the Akamas.
There is a beautiful stray dog running around here.
I believe he is being fed by a kind lady but left to roam around the area.
I am aware of the plight of these abandoned poor creatures, but this guy deserves a chance,
he is trully beautiful, gentle and friendly.
He has a lovely black/grey coat and isin great condition.
Can anyone help?
Who should I contact?
Thanks.

if he is in great condition then he probably isn't a stray but a dog that is just allowed out by his owner. That way they dont have mess in their garden and dont have to pick it up by taking it for a walk!

Hi Beverley,
Thanks so much for your reply.
I know exactly where you're coming from as neighbours afew doors up let leave their gates open for their dog to roam everywhere, dont know why they have a dog really?
I have been told that the gundog has been dumped here,he has been here for two months.
I just feel so very sorry for him and would hate for him to get run over or poisoned:(
I have a dog of my own.

I know it is heartbreaking isn't it? So many beautiful cats and dogs just dumped and neglected all over Cyprus by all nationalities. As much as it pains me to say so,it would be a kindness to the most severely neglected and suffering animals to be put to sleep humanely than try and fix them and find them homes.Mass sterilisations are really the answer to the amount of animals in Cyprus.

Thanks so much for your reply again Beverley,
Heartbreaking it is indeed :( but like you say the most neglected and suffering only deserve to be put to sleep.I agree it's the kindest thing to do.
The trouble is,this one seems to be very healthy and friendly...I didnt see him today..maybe good news, maybe he was taken in?
We have just moved here from Dubai,we lived there for thirteen years, the animal cruelty over there is bad with all different nationalitys dumping there beloved pets when moving or have had enough of them.
My friend owns an animal sanctuary over there, you wouldnt believe the exotic animals that are abandoned aswell!!!
Do hope this fella gets a home soon.
