I have tried a varietry of different wines from supermarkets, wineries and local kiosks. Who can recommend a good vino for me.

My favourite to date is:

Othellos Vintage
Agios Fotios ( I think this is how you spell it) They have a fab winery that does this cracking meze with loads of wine flung in - shame I'm always driving though, so miss out on the tasting!

I have to be honest and say that I haven't quite found a white wine that I really enjoy, someone recommended Thisbe to me but I just wasn't keen on it at all!

I love a nice glass of wine and am always looking to try the other Cypriot wines, so come on and share your wine favourites!

unfortunately .. Wine was the first thing that I ever got drunk on
(aged 7) from that day, the smell of any kind of wine makes me feel sick.
I was in Edinburgh sick children's hospital having my stomach pumped at seven years old.
(I thought it was lemonade)

Still, a nice single malt does`nt go a miss

White would be Alkion...............too sweet for me as I prefer red.

Red would be Cellar 62, Domaine D'ahera, or Kretikos. Can't compare to South Eastern Australia but good for Cyprus. Othello has not been good for the last two years, hopefully it will get better soon.

My favourite white wine is Persefoni, also from the Agios Fotios winery - and yes, have to agree with you about the meze, and what a good day out! If you decide to try Persefoni, and you usually drink medium, then get the dry - it isn't as dry as a usual dry white, but is very palatable.

For red I like Statos 99 - again from Agios Fotios (really must try another winery  )

Agree with Jean, we absolutely love Persefoni :agree

also like Kilardi another nice white and both Othello Vintage and Status 99 for the reds. Can't remember any others as our wine supply is 2000 miles away from where we are now.

As a treat for back in the UK we tend to fill our cases with the cheaper boxed reds to bring home. They are quite paletable - travel well - are light in weight - a good 'anytime' drink - and

they're cheap !!!! :cheers

You wouldn't say that if you could see what she gets like after a couple of glasses of wine!

While we're on the subject, one thing I really like about Cyprus is that even the really cheap wine tends to be pretty drinkable - quite often get the Keo 1 litre cartons from the supermarket - cost less than a pound and they're more than acceptable to my uneducated palate! :cheers

Thats only because you're normally use to drinking Keo mate... it deaddens the taste buds, so even drinking fine wines, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference

I'll just stick to Keo, never been a wine man myself & as I always have to drive, as my other half doesn't, I only drink the odd Keo now & then :(
