Hi Haris,
Could you please give me advice regarding the following problem -

We are still waiting for our title deeds and when the land registry office went to the project to measure they found that there is a trespass on the adjacent green area, i.e. our boundary wall has been built on the green area. The developer says that he is trying to use the new Amnesty Law to resolve the problem.
Does the Amnesty Law cover problems like encroachment onto a green area? If so I understand that there will be a clause to that effect added to the title deeds.

Will that be a problem when we want to sell our house in the future?

Regards,

Sue.

you might be able to use it , but someone will still have to pay for the land that has been
nicked ..

Dear Sue,

Thank you for your post.

The amnesty law is there to resolve problems with properties not built according to the law or the terms of the building permit.

I can not comment on what the Authorities might put on the title deed once the amnesty process has been completed, as nobody know from now what if anything will be put on the title deed.

The process with the amnesty law will take a while to be resolved and during that time it will off-course be a problem to sell a property that does not have a certificate of completion.

Regards,

Haris Kalogirou
