Had a cold call at the front door today from a young bloke presumably on commission to make appointments for a "salesman" to come and "quote".

Anyone know which firms operate like this with this product type in the area ? :!:

I know there is a big market in the UK for this type of "sales operation" but first time i've seen in Cyprus ? Anyone have experience of this directly/indirectly ?

I have not had them call on me, but I think that there are english owned companies that are working in paphos..
I am not sure if that place next to the post office sends out cold callers..

I had some religious freeks knock on the office door today..

If they were young guys, in suits white shirts and ties, smart haircuts, they will be Mormons. I've seen them around too. Lloyd

They are Jehovah Witnesses - they were about to call at my house the other evening when I had popped out in the garden to have a smoke and the dogs came with me - needless to say they didn't stop long as both girls went beserk at them - don't know why they normally have a quick yap, but they kept on and on so the two blokes scampered off quick. First time I have thanked both the girls for barking.

A couple of years ago I was holidaying in my apartment (before the big move), and this couple came walking down the street - Good Morning I said (as you do), Good Morning they said, and stopped for a chat (as you do). We must have been chatting for a good 15-20 minutes, it seems they live in Peyia, etc, etc, until finally they said "You do know who are, don't you?" - No, says I, thinking is this someone who knows me from a forum  . "We're Jehovahs Witnesses" they said, and they handed me a leaflet  , and told me there was a big convention on in Limassol that weekend.

I was gobsmacked - for some reason, I never thought there would be Jehovahs Witnesses in Cyprus!

back to the plot... focalpoint kitchens are doing cold-calling for double-glazing and conservatories; the reason i know? i had a call the other morning, and it was my next-door neighbour who called!

i can't help feeling that with so few owner occupiers here, they'll stop quite quickly...
