:greetings

If you're seeing this message then you are now viewing the forum on our brand new server!

It's likely there will be a few teething problems as with any such transfer, so if you find anything not working properly, or that looks different from before, please stick a post in this thread to let us know.

We're particulalry interested in any comments on how the speed of the site is as more users come across.

Enjoy the new place!

:D

Hey guys ,

Input from the UK , the site is really flying , it's so nice NOT to have time to make coffee between pages loading . :D :D :D

Again I will say a big thank-you to all of the team over there for doing such a great job for those of us that only have this way of keeping up with the latest from Cyprus .

:congrats

Well done Pete, I'm sure the last few days have had you tearing your hair out, new site / home looking really good and fast too ( although I never said that as we don't want to tempt fate ).

Thanks Axel but its Martin, Andy & Neil who've spent hours getting this finally sorted, all I've done is moan at them :D :D as that's my job, so that the forum runs smoothly for the members but those 3 should take the credit :D :D

I have moaned at Pete, so he has had some earache. I didn't want him to feel left out.

I did moan at Neil, too, and he was very polite to me seeing as how he was pulling his hair out. :D

Thanks, Guys. It is a pleasure to be moving along again.

I'm a visitor on a number of Cyprus forums and for the last couple of weeks, it seems that each one in turn has had problems - either getting onto the site in the first place, or - falling down when trying to post.

Either way, it's extremely irritating for all concerned and it's great to see someone actually taking control and making their point felt with their feet.

Well done Guys & Gals for making the move to another host.

I wonder if any others will follow suit?

Keep up the good work.

Yes indeed! :bounce

Just to let you all know, it looks like the full transfer has completed now, so you should be able to access the site from the original location again, although if you find logging in takes you back to the temporary one don't worry that will be sorted soon, and they're both in the same place now anyway!

This pretty much sums up my feelings of relief right about now:

I am glad you understand Alastair's response, CF.

I didn't know whether it was clean or whether I should delete it.

That's what you get for letting an uncultured moderator on board.

Wow, that's fast! Well done, all concerned.

Can I just ask...is this the "happy slappy website" referred to on another Cyprus-based forum (thread about buying houses). Oh, naughty me! :D :D :D Lloyd

Haven't been on another website, Lloyd. But I don't mind being happy slappy. The saying should actually be happy clappy, but there you go. It is usually applied to Born Again Christians, and as I can be lumped in with that lot too I am used to having labels applied by people who are full of bigotry, bias and intolerance. Water off a ducks back as they don't know me, and never will.

Life is just too short to be miserable and crabby. And far too short to waste on people who want to subscribe to that way of life.

Just my humble opinion, of course. :D

What's wrong. I didn't have time to do the dinner tonight between posts. Hell, that can't be right can it. You are completely messing up my routine.
Usually, Peel the spuds, .........go to new post........
cut up meat............... type and try to upload new post...............
Start the ironing..........still waiting for new post to upload........

Finish the ironing and set the table.............post nearly uploaded.
Dinners ready............Post uploaded

I just can't cope with all this speed thingy. My mojo is completely to pot!

Better get a drink, if I have time that is before I see my post on the board........

Tiggy
