I hope it gets even better for when we are over

Warm weather for bank holiday weekend

WEATHER conditions over the bank holiday weekend will be warmer than average, the Meteorological Services announced yesterday.

Director Kyriacos Theofilou said that temperatures will be over 20 degrees Celsius, which is above average for the time of year.

“On Sunday and Monday, there will be fair conditions with some cloud,” he said.

Rain is not expected with the exception of Sunday night, where there is a small possibility of very light showers, which will quickly pass.

The police will be out in force over the weekend, with a strong presence on the roads, in an effort to ease traffic congestion.

Police Chief Iacovos Papacostas urged people to exercise caution when behind the wheel, adding that breathalyser tests will be administered “in every corner of the island.”

I have an array of shorts at the ready. Don't know which ones to wear. I may wear them all. But not at the same time, you understand.

LL - my youngest son will be on a ferry coming back from Amsterdam on Monday. The forecaster spoke of hurricane conditions.

I hope he has got his sea legs on.

We shall be picnicking at Lara.

It might be warm, but it's not exactly pleasant, with the air full of desert dust. Those picnic sandwiches may taste a tad gritty. :(

Let's hope the wind does blow tomorrow, to send all that dust to Turkey ;) However there's no wind forecast and a suggestion of rain by mid week, which will dump all that dust in the pools :(

It was 28.C yesterday at 10.30am, i had the kitchen window open and the air was warm, quite a shock. Kept everything else shut and enjoyed it being cool inside until early afternoon when the air temp reduced considerably.

The satellite weather maps show this weather is coming directly to us from Egypt/Libya and its really grim to look outside and see no horizon, just grey everywhere - how spoilt does that sound !

BigDutch forecast : Monday morning wind starts to pickup, Tuesday morning should be clear skys again with Wednesday evening seeing a low pressure system come in from the West bringing some showers into Thursday morning.

The coptic chart strikes again ....... so bizarre !
