I don't show my online status. No particular reason. Have done it that way for several years.

Maybe it is because I don't feel comfortable being in a crowd and it is a subconscious thing.

I think it is more important using your real name as your log in rather than hiding behind a pretentious pseudonym

I thought you were 'hidden' if you were a member but hadn't logged in otherwise you would be a guest! I tick the 'log me in automatically' button but that's not to say it always happens . . . anywhere! :wink:

If you go to your profile you can choose to hide your on line status. Then, when you log in, your name won't appear at the top of the forum which you are browsing.

As soon as you post anything people will know you are there.

Initially I thought that you had to choose a forum name - hence Starchild - otherwise I would have just been Verity. I nearly always put my name at the bottom of my posts anyway.

I never 'browse a forum' I just 'view messages since the last visit' so that's prolly why I've never seen it
