I was expecting to see AK47s and rocket propelled grenades only to find the Larnaca police have made a big thing of arresting a man for having what is openly for sale at markets.

The Cyprus Mail has a couple of really obnoxious posters. Were it a properly run forum they would have banned some time ago

I have reported his posts (t o o cy) as abuse so they usually react quite quickly to it and remove the offender(s). He obviously hates everyone so nobody need to feel his virulent and foul mouthed insults are personal.
What is a worrying trend though is the amount of racism that is getting worse over here.It is the hatred that worries me most.

They removed his posts very quickly after I reported them on this particular subject. I do at times agree with some of his posts on other subjects, surprisingly, so he should be allowed to post but they should be monitored a bit better and nipped in the bud when they become abusive.
We all have our opinions and we do live in a democracy where we have freedom of speech and it is good to have a debate sometimes but some posters will always be controversial.It is a matter of acceptability for the majority that needs attention.

I am sorry to say if you check the thread he still has a very abusive post left on. This particular person has gone beyond the pale of late and I am afraid the CM appears to let him continue to post.

A number off posters have written to the CM especially with his constant vile posts against Gavin Jones, My opinion is unless the CM takes firm prompt action a number of people will be driven of there forum due to the racial and vile obsene posts they are subject to.

I have just checked and it is a new one which I have reported so hopefully CM will remove it. The worst thing other people could actually do is ignore him completely because he thrives on conflict and the ability to "wind people up" so ignoring him would infuriate him and is very satisfying. I think most posters recognise him for the racist bigot he is and do ignore it but others need to have the last word so play into his hands.
Rise above it,it always works for me.

Beverly I agree ignoring 99% of such people is the best way to deal with such people but this particular person I beleave posts using a number of names. So firm action is needed for a number of months now the CM have been deleting his posts it has had no affect on him.

I think the CM need to install software & mod to regulate the forum.
