A recent survey done in the UK regarding fast food was released the other day stating that 74% of people prefer Chinese food as their FAST FOOD favorite.

OK PEOPLE. LETS DO OUR OWN SURVEY.

Given the choice of traditional Cypriot Kebabs or Gyros. I would like to know peoples views here on the two.

How many of you all prefer the Traditional meat or sheftalia Kebab.

& how many of you prefer the lamb or chicken Gyros.

The final results will be posted in an up coming article in an FOOD MAGAZINE, so come on people get voting...

Chinese takeaway food is almost universally unpleasant - but some of the better (UK - not here) restaurants offer much better fare.

Sheftalia can be tasty - and Cyprus traditional meats can be excellent when not incinerated, as appears to be the local fashion.

The best fast foods in Cyprus are the hot mixed sandwiches from some of the vans you see parked in lay-byes. There is one by Larnaca airport that is quite outstanding, if you are ever out that way.

My own fast food favourite is the familiar Kentucky Fried Rat - especially the hot wings - but only occasionally.

Its the lamb doner for me , its easier to pick up and eat with your hands
and tastes much better , the cubed meat can be hit and miss , though I do eat them but not often

The Lamb Doner (elephant-leg lookalike) for me - absolutely stonking with a chilli sauce and bit of salad, especially finely sliced white cabbage marinated in lemon juice, olive oil and salt, and!!

Fast Food? Surely you don't have food if you're fasting.

I'll try the "real" Gyros this summer for the first time... and now I love it :heart in particular the one with the beef meat!

My favourite dish in the Doner Xpress :banana

It's the donner for me too - every time especially with hot chilli sauce and chilli peppers on the side.

A proper turkish lamb doner kebab for me. Don't often see them over here. Its the first thing I want when I go back to London. Mum has a take away around the corner which does the best kebabs that are so big you have to eat them with a fork, impossible to pick up, and there is always a big queue of Turks waiting in line.

Trish , if you watched how most high volume foods were made , you would never eat any of them again .. ..

I had a friend , who loved steak , he went to visit an abatoir one day , he has never eaten meat since that day ... ..

I know Neil, I worked in the Walls factory when the kids were little in the evening - never touched a pie, scotch egg or sausage since (home made is better). It is just that they did a test and out of so many restaurants only one had actual lamb in the contents.

Without upsetting you Neil, that's what they all said until it was tested. Nothing drastic, just people objecting to paying for lamb when it was a mixture of lamb, pork etc.
