Hi, can you help explain the planning regulations which apply to constructing a swimming pool in Kato Paphos? Are the regulations written down anywhere. I've heard that you can't build a swimming pool closer than 3m to a road, but I've also heard that you can't build closer than 3m to a public boundary. Which of these is correct, or are they both correct?

I want to build a swimming pool in my front garden, it will be >3m from the road but only 1.0m from my front garden wall. The other side of my front garden wall is a municipal pavement (no road). Will I get planning permission?

Regards

Kevin

Before you start anything, have you got your Title Deeds?

Hi Alan,

whats the relevance of asking if I have title deeds? Does it make a difference?

By the way, I asked one pool company in Paphos for an estimate and they emailed me back saying "it would be impossible for us to give you an estimate for construction of a pool without a Site Survey, Drawings, and of course an application for Planning Permission".

I qeeried this and they replied that all pools need planning permission.

Dear Kevin,

You can get this information from the Planning Department. It varies from area to area and also if you building factor on your plot.

You can go with your title deed to ask, but it is very difficult so I would advise to go with a Civil Engineer or Architect.
