Well it is 12 months today that we moved to Cyprus ......it has flown by , all good.

Our story is different to some in that we left the UK in 2006 and moved to France , we both never had French lessons at school , so that was fun trying to learn it at our age.

Any way last year we decided to sell up in France and move to Cyprus , our sale went through very quickly , and this time we got rid of all our possessions so arrived in CY with just a suitcase each.

Our flight was to Larnaca , so we had a week there in a hotel , then 2 weeks on Aphrodite Hills , then 2 months in Lysos (brrr cold there) and finally to Kouklia where I think we will stay.

All our paper work is done , S1 health care , immigration registration , tax office.

We intend to stay permanently in rented accommodation , it is such great value - we have a villa with pool and maintained garden for what it would cost for a 2 bed terrace in our home town in the UK.

So for anyone else thinking of retiring to CY I would recommend it. 8-)

:booboo I hadn't looked at original date!! Doh!! Happy 2nd Anniversary LOL. Me & Sue have been here in Paphos 9 years this past September and still enjoying!! (I am 'an old sod') Ha! Ha! I first came to Cyprus when I was 20 in 1958 on a 6 week detachment (two days to get here and back with a night stop in Malta on Beverley Aircraft) with 33 Sqdn Royal Air Force servicing Mk 7 Javelin all weather fighters, then again for 6 weeks in 1959 and then I got posted to 70 (LXX) Sqdn Hastings A/c at RAF Nicosia from Nov 60 to may 63, (my son was 12 weeks old Nov 60) and my daughter Tracey was born at Dhekalia on 12-12 62. Yep she is 50 next month on 12-12-12 !!!!
Cheers, Mal

Ps Trying to boost the attendance to the PP Party has I think we need 50 covers for it to go ahead at the price quoted!! :band :christmas :christmas :christmas :christmas :seeya :seeya
