Paphos Zingers return to the 50’s and 60’s.

On the 26th April 2013 Paphos Zingers held their first production of the year entitled “A TRIBUTE TO DREAMBOATS AND PETTICOATS” at Marathounda Community Centre. They moved to this venue, as at every previous event they had held, tickets were sold out and more people wanted to see them. Imagine their surprise and delight, to find that tickets for this show in April sold out in less than 3 weeks!!! Due to this overwhelming response, they are taking another trip down memory lane and putting on a second performance on Saturday 21st June 2013 at Paragaka Bar & Grill in Coral Bay. This show will contain even more songs from the era of full skirts, Capri pants and Brylcreem. It will be slightly different to the show from 26th April (just in case anyone wants to see it again!!). Tickets are limited in number to 200 and already, by the end of March nearly 50 had been sold. Sponsor for this event will be Pembridge International, a global financial advisory company, with a proven track record.

As usually all proceeds from the event will go to Cancer Patients Support Group.

The show a tribute to Dreamboats and Petticoats on the 26/4/13 made over €3000 for the Cancer Patients Support Group. Thank you to everyone who attended and I hope you all enjoyed the evening.

As we have only 40 tickets of the 200 left, in order to make sure the charity gets as much money as possible we are not producing posters, so if anyone wants a ticket please contact one of the numbers to obtain one.

We also have several items we will be auctioning, including a BMX bike worth €200 donated by Sports Direct

On Sunday we took the show to Limassol and it was such a resounding success, we have been booked for two more future events, so come on everybody and join the fun!

Just to let people know that slightly shy of €2500 was raised from the tribute to DreamBoats and Petticoats event at Pargaka and we have a further €500 in the kitty, so together with the €4400 the Zingers handed over last month, this means they have already this year, raised more than €7000 for Cancer Patients Support Group. We passed over €6000+ to them last year so we have already smashed that total. Thank you to everyone who came.

We are always on the look-out for new venues and events, so if anyone has suggestions, please let me know. However, please note that this year we will only be raising money for this (very worthy) charity as we only elect one a year.

As a byline I read last week that cancer will affect at least 1 in 2 people throughout their lifetime in one form or another, so you never know, when you may be grateful for this organisation's support.
