My wife and I plan to arrive in Cyprus during May and stay for a year to look around and decide whether we will stay long term. Our medium term requirement is for a two bedroom fully furnished rural property from which to research life on the island and if we decide to stay, to loo for a new home - who knows, perhaps our medium term rental will be so perfect that we decide to buy it.

Our immediate requirement is for a one bedroom fully furnished house or apartment in a quiet are to rent for a month while we find our medium term rental - being the eternal optimist one hopes the short term property could turn out to be where we stay for a year.

The Paphos area sounds interesting provided it is possible to get away from villa-land but if anyone has any suggestions (preferably positive and polite) in any non-tourist location we are happy to listen.

If I remember if you stay for longer that 6 year months you're "suppose" to apply for resident permit so basically same as if you're moving here permanently.
It also potential causing problems in the UK as well. I would suggest possibly only want to come for shorter stay or a few short stays (winter and summer?).

Most estate agents particularly if you're looking for rental won't be to interested if you don't want to move straight away or have definite date (within a short time) when you want to move.
