My b****y kids, i could happily strangle them right now, this minute!!

The eldest (5 yr old) has climbed up on a stool and into a cupboard, taken the scissors without anyone noticing and proceeded to cut a few chunks out of her hair followed by a few chunks out of her 4 yr old sisters hair for good measure! I cannot believe it.

I remember being about 7 or 8 and a friend of mine got her hair stuck in a hairbrush in the school toilets and i kindly cut it out for her. Her mom went mental, now i know exactly how she felt.

I'm mad and upset. I thought the scissors were way out of reach. I can't believe they have been so silly. They thought it was funny at first but they are not laughing now they have realised they will have to have shorter hair cuts. I hope it's a lesson learned.

I can see the funny side Marina. My daughter once did the same thing --she wanted to cut her fringe so in her wisdom she held the hair- bent her head down so she could see better in the mirror -and cut it-- OMG when she had finished the hair was so near the top of her brow the only way to hide it was with a sort of sweat band thing -- so dont get all het up your kids are to young to understand not to mention the dangers of scissors --my daughter was 19. When Nathan was about two or three he climbed onto the toilet seat and managed to get Phil's razor out of the bathroom cabinet. I can still see him standing at the top of the stairs crying, with blood pouring out of a large gash in his top lip!

Thankfully no permanent damage done, even though I thought he had lost half the blood in his body at the time.

No matter how closely you watch them kids will find a way to do stupid things.

I dont have kids yet , but if I did , I think I would be going mad
with my mixed emotions , 1 half would be going mad wanting to throttle them,
the other half would be having a bit of a giggle, thinking I done things like that..

My mom has just told me i did it myself when i was about 6 or 7 and it was on my birthday and i was having a party. My mom said she could have throttled me but she saw the funny side after a few days. She was more annoyed when i'd cut someone else's hair and she had to apologise to the girls mom, profusely.

My friend, she thinks she's funny, texted me this morning asking how the scissor sisters were?? Luckily, she was not in my line of fire at the time.

I'm still annoyed but i can see the funny side. What bugs me is the 4 yr old thinks it's hilarious and it took nearly 2 years to grow her fringe out and it's going to have to be cut back in now. Aaaaarrrrgghhh!! Kids!

Hi.

My oldest one did that when she was about 6 years old, a straight (ish) fringe. I was shocked but then couldn't stop laughing. Another time my husband took the oldest two to YiaYias (Grandmas house) and when he came back I thought he had the wrong child she looked as if she had her hair shaved off, it was so short. Apparently she did this to all her kids and grandchildren. I was upset that no one asked me first but didn't say anything, it grew!
I think she did this to prevent head lice (dickies as we called them) I suppose it's better than his sisters method...Aroxal spray for ants!

Aah Jill, your story reminds me of another occasion when my eldest was about 2 ish. Again, she had found a pair of scissors in a draw at someones house and lopped a chunk off her hair. I made an appointment at the hairdresser and my husband decided to visit his mum taking the kids with him. When they returned from YiaYia's house my daughter looked worse than when she'd left. Between them they decided to cut her hair because they knew better than the hairdresser. I was furious and i never spoke to him for over a week because of it.
Why does Yiayia think she knows everything and why do their sons do as they say!!!

Anyway, i'm starting to laugh about it now, almost.

I put on a dvd for my son in my bedroom as I wanted to get dinner started, when I came through to check on him he had gotten hold of the nail scissors and was cutting all the legs of my trousers, after the easter break the kids are going to school in summer uniform (shorts) so he reckoned he was making my stuff summer uniform.....

Yeah, i'm married to one. Been 6 long years now. We came to live in Uk about 2 years ago but we still have a place in Emba and we usually come out for a month in the summer and another week or 2 if we can manage it. We were thinking of returning this year but our mariage isn't as solid as it used to be and i'm reluctant to return with the children for fear of being stuck there forever - if you know what i mean? Children born in Cyprus, to Cypriot father, even with British Nationality i've heard many a nasty story. Anyhow, my elderly parent are ill so and they need me to look after them so that has put paid to any plans of us returning this year and possibly our holiday in August. We will see.

Nice to know there i'm not the only mad one out there!!
