I enjoyed that Poppy,I just love country.
here is a song that reminds me of a long time ago, Rod Stewart is a favorite of mine, when he recorded this i thought it was a strange choice for him but it grew on me and i think he does it really well, see what you think.

Thom what can I say. Great song & I love it. It's on his album "If we fall in love tonight"

I feel I am hanging from a slack nail at the moment but new ideas to help keep a music topic alive on Paphos People would be great

But just in case anyone thought I was running out of ideas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fkKsbabKhc

I think that your right, there doesn't seem to be many music lovers on here.
I mean to say that most people like music but not many love music.
Most like the music from when they were growing up and don't give a chance to music before or after that period of time in their lives.
Most stopped buying records after they got married and from then on where musically frozen in time.

We have a broad spectrum of musical tastes and if we have guests we try to cater for them as best we can, of course its hard to please someone who only likes Dolly Parton and strangely enough Demis Rousos, or another who complains about our choice of what she might like as she only really likes Bobby Darren, "well biring some Bobby Darren over next time", "oh I haven't got any records". Still they are experts of what is good music and what is bad.

Uncle D many thanks for your contributions & expressing your thoughts on this music section but it is never going to be the most popular
On reflection we started in February this year & still alive so I should be happy with that & thinking back over those months, Neil has not interfered but in fact has contributed

I can assure you I will be the last one to close the door on this section if it were to come to this but hey I'm looking forward to a Christmas themed QUIZ by M.A.D

"all ready and waiting to launch on 18th November till 22nd December"

Just thought I would Pop.. py this in on topic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLNzYqF00KU

Hi Poppy, don`t fret at the response rate,i think if you examined it closely it is not a lot different from the general forum, there are plenty of topics that get nil response, also there are loads that wouldn`t be missed, also it tends to be a core group that post most of the time, another thing to consider is a lot of folks take retirement very seriously, not us of course 8-)
