I probably sound very stupid but can someone explain to me please

What is the process for a dog being"fostered" from Cyprus shelters/pounds to other Europ
ean countries. I don't understand. Fostering is short term so what happens from Cyprus to follow up this if in Germany or uk or do the foster parents then find an owner in their country?

Is "adoption" the same meaning of actually keeping the dog?

I've seen so many stories of dogs being fostered from Cyprus to europe but am really confused.

Also what does it mean when shelters/pounds are trying to raise money for flights. Does the foster/adopter not have to pay ?

If the dog has the promise of a home in another European country, then the rehoming process is started. This means vaccinations and the issuing of a Pet Passport.

In the interim period, the dog will be sent to a "foster home" where it can learn to integrate with people and possibly other dogs or cats before it's ready to be sent off on its' journey to a new and "forever" home.

The foster home will do all the walking, feeding etc and generally help the animal to feel secure in different surroundings. A very rewarding job for those who can see past the letting go and understanding the dog is going to a far, far better place than Cyprus!

Adoption - means the dog will be given a permanent home which may or may not be in Cyprus. Many rescue dogs do get permanent homes and owners in Cyprus too.

I have been adopting dogs before but not in Cyprus. Maybe they have different rules in raising dogs.
