We have friends and family coming over this summer and I have said I will look at car hire for them.

Which companies do people use? I am looking for good value for money and a company which gives you the car with a tank full of petrol and lets you return it full, so that you only pay for what you use.

Friends who are out at the moment booked their car hire when they booked their flight and hotel. They have a small car and have ended up paying through the nose for the petrol which has been charged in Sterling, using the UK pricing for petrol. :shock:

Petsas and Europcar i have booked with before and tend to get quotes for people coming to see us .. always suggest that you "haggle" with a human either phone/fax/email rather than taking the "special internet price"

We always use george and kula as their cars are new nd full tank of petrol on pickup or delivery and return full.

We used these last year - prices are very good and they are very reliable - can't remember what they do about petrol but I'm sure it'll tell you on their website http://www.economycarrentals.com/
