Before KK's was Ossie Ardiles & before him was Jim Smith :D

Did you know that Jack Charlton was manager at the TOON 84-85 :?: :?:

And to answer your question re last domestic Trophy, it s was the FA Cup in 1955 :D the last one of six :D

I can remember Keegan's second coming like it was yesterday - I was still at school and had wandered over the chippy for some curry, fried rice and chips for my lunch and popped into the newsagent for a Chronicle - knew the bloke in there quite well (toon season ticket holder) and he was absolutely buzzing with the news - the excitement was massive, even though he was such an unknown quantity - we were knackered under Ossie and I somehow just knew KK was going to make everything OK! :D

Well I should have known it, we are back in the mix. We are 7 points ahead of Bolton with 4 games to go but we have to go to Bolton. If we lose that we are 4 points ahead and they still have to play Spurs who have gone on holiday.
Our last game of the seaason is Arsenal
Gary

Oooohhhh that's not looking to favourable is it mate :?

Apr 19 Newcastle (a)

Apr 26 Middlesbrough (h)

May 3 Bolton (a)

May 11 Arsenal (h)

So how many points do you think you'll get from the last 4 matches then :? :?

We have:

Apr 20 Sunderland (h) Score 3-1 to us

Apr 26 West Ham (a) Score 1-2 to us :o

May 5 Chelsea (h) Score 1-1 :D as per usual

May 11 Everton (a) Score 1-1 :D season over :D

I fancy us to get a possible 8 points :celebrate

On yesterday's performance we will not get any points at all. None.
I can't believe how poor we were and can't understand why.
Everyone and I mean everyone, all those names I've been bigging up were awful.
You'd have thought they'd never met each other before.
Citeh weren't interested and we still lost !
Gary

I can imagine Keano kicking off in the dressing room after the match

Maybe your player thought they'd be safe from relegation after the back2back wins, not thinking that maybe Bolton & Fulham would win again

I expect them to be up for the derby against us next week, should be a good game, when was the last time you beat us at SJP :?: :?:

I'm not into stats and I know we haven't done well against you recently. It was 2-1 in November 2000 I think.

Seems you have the easiest run-in thats for sure but I'll bet you a Mars Bar, you don't get 12 points, which is what you'll need to get above us, btw, if Wigan win their next game, they go above you both in the table

You're not going down Gary, not even close - I've been telling you that for weeks! Bolton are royally stuffed - 4 games left, 3 away from home and now Kevin Davies is banned for 2 of them - even if you get no more points you'll be fine.

Actually saw your game on Saturday and didn't think you were that bad - took a dodgy penalty and fluke mis-hit shot to beat you. There was actually a few mackems in the George - had a small chuckle at their expense! :D Hopefully the defeat will have suitably knocked confidence ahead of the derby....

Where in Peyia you moving to smurf?

If Boro beat Bolton this weekend, it will greatly help us and Bolton are without Kevin Davies as well. I've studied the games and reckon we need another point, the sooner the better.

So let me get this right, you're currently 3 points behind us & you reckon 7 point will be enough to finish above us, so what you're saying is, we're only going to get 3 points from our remaining 4 games :?
And you say we're deluded   You'll be lucky to get 6 from the last 4 games, espcially with Citey & Pompay fighting it out for a European spot, Bolton & the Makems fighting to survive, at best you'll get maybe 5 points (total)

I know one thing for sure, with the Mars I got off Booboogaloo, the box I'm owed by Gary & the one of you, I'm gonna get rather fat this summer :celebrate

Not sure if its all those chemicals/smog you've been breathing for all those decades mate but I think you need to change your avatar to this :manic either that or you're even more deluded than everyone else in the NE :there

You sound confident mate that we're not going to get even 3 points from our remaining 4 games :smilielol Oh I'm so going to 'love it' when we get bragging rights at the end of the season because I am so going to use them :celebrate

You see, even DP think's you're off your head, as all he can do is  normally he'd agree with something anyone says but on this occasion, its a  :smilielol

Really...... I can't remember agreeing on the codswallop you serve up.

Gary, if you don't agree with anything I say, you always comment, not just put    & I've got nothing to be nervous about mate, I'm living the life here

As for me not agreeing to anything you or Smurf says, is because that codswallops, as you both know you're going to end up below us at the end of the season :smilielol

As for Martin, not sure where his heads at, as it sounds to me like he thinks you're going to beat us this weekend, which I disagree with wholeheartedly  I think we're going to hammer you to make up for the debacle at the Stade de Fright, where we played like a sunday league team :D

Plus if I starting agreeing with everything everyone said, I wouldn't be true to myself, check out my signatire

I put three  cos I thought what Smurf said was funny. There was no need to put a comment.
Of course you may be right and I may often agree with folk on here, whereas you are simply argumentative.

Well if putting my own opinions about my team across which disagree with yours is called argumentative, then arrest me your honour, as I am guilty as charged :D :D

No Pete only joking, I was fishing mate, that's all.
Save me the sermon though.
You should know by now, banter comes in many forms.

newcastle may scrape one lucky win in there last 4 games, but i doubt they will do much once they are safe, think the game on 26th will decide who will finish top in the NE

Smurf mate, you need to listen to Sky news, according to those in the know, Newcastle are already safe, its everyone, including yourself which are still in the relegation battle  that the words of those in the know, not me mate, so why would we bother, we bother because we want to finish higher than we are & the Spurts & Spams are close enough to take if results go our way

Plus the added bonus of bragging rights & don't forget, the player at the TOON are fighting for their jobs also, as KK will clears a few out come the summer :D :D

you believe everything you hear on the news, that means you believe what alan mcinally said last week 'outside the top four middlesbrough are the best by far, the best by far' he even had to repeat it,

now i am not stupid enough to believe alan mcinally but until each team gets enough to be safe then no team is (in other words from spurs down and spurs only need 1 point)

So do you think if you beat Bolton this weekend, your team are going to take it easy on the Makems next weekend  I don't think so  you'll still want bragging rights over them, its always the way :smilielol

When we beat them this weekend & then you beat them next, they're going to be seriously close to the relegation scramble for the last 2 games, they'd better hope the teams below them lose as well

So do you think if you beat Bolton this weekend, your team are going to take it easy on the Makems next weekend  I don't think so  you'll still want bragging rights over them, its always the way :smilielol

When we beat them this weekend & then you beat them next, they're going to be seriously close to the relegation scramble for the last 2 games, they'd better hope the teams below them lose as well

actually no i dont think we will take it easy against the mackems, i feel that boro will beat bolton, fulham will not win, sunderland will beat the magpies :there and that will leave all 3 NE teams safe by the end of tomorrow :celebrate

I can 't believe that. What the hell are Boro playing at ?
That's opened up a big can of worms that has.
Our game with Boro next week will be like a cup final now.
Unless of course we win tomorrow !!!!!!!!!

typical boro performance, should have been at least 3 up inside the first 5 minutes, bolton weathered the onslaught then to be fair the were the better team in the 2nd half, thought their keeper and mccann were the best players on the park today,

couldn't believe the start we made like, how we missed the chances we did i'll never know  , never mind we will still finish on top of the NE
