You are right, MTN is now called Epic.
The whole thing is a dead loss.
What I was hoping for, and what the reports on what was being discussed suggested,
was where I could use any Cyprus phone to call any other Cyprus phone, North or South,
without the use of Country codes (the TRNC doesn't have a country code so uses the Turkey country code) and without roaming charges. This should be possible technically as the numbering ranges North and South do not overlap.
I think your estimate of 10 years is probably about right.

Tried dialling *136# but I get no response.
