Why are the UK online newspapers focussed on what goes on in the USA?

Yes, I suppose it is technically 'news', but is it of any interest to UK citizens?

Their latest fixation is on someone called Kobe Bryant........no I hadn't heard of him previously either!

Also still none the wiser even though we were bombarded with media coverage, especially on the TV.

Initially thought it was just him and the crew, so rather surprised when I found out later there were other people on board.

Hi Emgeeb,
I'm struggling to see how I indicated any lack of respect in my post, my comments were directed toward the press.

However, the 'news' today has revealed some issues in his past that cast doubt on any potential respect being warranted.
