Isolation…What are you doing to keep busy?

OK, what are you up to? What are you doing to fill the time? Any ideas for other members to satisfy the body and mind

GO……..

Trying to finish my wife's 'to do' list - well it's my ambition!

Should see me through though.

Here's a couple of suggestions

Clear out your wardrobe
Dedicate your new-found time and attention to sorting out your clothes, ditching items you haven't worn for six months and co-ordinating clothes into sections so it's easier to browse in the mornings. This is a great opportunity to get inspired by new outfits or rediscover an old favorite, and of course when this is all over, the Charity shops will benefit

Back up your phone pictures
Remember that girls' holiday you took in 2016 or when you swam with dolphins? Ensure that memories like this are treasured. You now have the time to compile a photo album or scrapbook to ensure you don't lose them in years to come.

Learn Greek
Remember how you were always going to learn Greek  Now you have the time to do it…With a ton of apps and websites that give you lessons for free, you've truly run out of excuses not to. :celebrate

Taking a bit of time catching up in the garden. Making a couple of decks, grafting some trees, supporting the wife ideas.

Sorry but it isn't possible as you have to keep 2 metres distance from her unless of course you are doing it by remote control/ wifi? Good luck, will start knitting! :giggle :giggle

We both have Mum’s who are on their own, so we are playing games over FaceTime to keep us all laughing and entertained, whilst taking our mind off the current situation.

My sculpture in the garden seems to be coming together.
Not sure what I’m going to do with it when I’m finished.
I may put some stuff I have lying around in the garden like coriander, cinnamon, almond, Basil, bay leaves and other botanicals into it with some water, set it on fire and see what happens

During this period of isolation I have found we are eating substantially more root vegetables and pulses with the inevitable ‘windy’ outcome. :huff
I am having difficulty convincing my wife that one of the first Covid 19 symptoms is loss of smell and therefore what I am actually doing is performing a regular health check on both of us :doh

Decided to lift the lid off the toilet cistern to find out how much water is used each time it is flushed on 'full flush' using the very technical method of having some 1.5L water bottles full of water nearby and emptying them into cistern to find out how much was needed before the mechanism turned off automatically. Turns out it uses 4.5 litres.

How much does your toilet use?

Put the washing machine on, place it's drain hose in a plastic washing-up bowl, select a programme and switch on.
When the cycle is complete, titrate the fluid into your 1.5L bottles and make a note of the amount of fluid used.
Repeat, using the different programmes on your machine.
That should keep you occupied for at least the next few days.
We await your calculations ... eagerly !

OK so I made this for dinner last night. Tasted really good, but can anybody explain the three screws and funny shaped Allen key I had left on the plate?

Turns out it uses 4.5 litres.

How much does your toilet use?

Put the washing machine on, place it's drain hose in a plastic washing-up bowl, select a programme and switch on.
When the cycle is complete, titrate the fluid into your 1.5L bottles and make a note of the amount of fluid used.
Repeat, using the different programmes on your machine.
That should keep you occupied for at least the next few days.
We await your calculations ... eagerly !

It used just over 33 x 1.5 litre bottles for the main wash.

That kept you occupied for 6 days ... probably your 'weekly wash' date.
Now ... we await the results of all the other 'wash programmes' ! ;)
I hope someone can suggest another task to stop you from getting bored :greetings
