We moved to Peyia last year from Paphos and changed the address on everything including the dog's registration at the vets. However if we get stopped taking him for a walk in Peyia adjacent to where we now live would his address on the chip log in as Paphos?
Anybody know how to change the info on his chip to make sure that he isn't unknowingly breaking the rules.

Best go to the Govt Vets main office on the Polis Rd as not all vets can access the system, or if they can it takes forever!

To my knowledge, the police do not carry microchip scanners with them, so cannot check the chip implanted in a dog. Am I right, or have there been instances of animals being scanned whilst out for a walk?

The first time I was stopped I was asked if I had the papers for the dog, but I assumed he was joking. I did say that our dog is chipped and he just ignored me.

Regardless of who has a scanner it's always advisable to change details when moving as if the dog escapes and is taken to a pound (Peyia has one!) if the details are incorrect it causes extra stress for both hound and owner until they can be reunited!

Yes, I understand and agree with that, but the OP is talking about getting stopped while taking the dog for a walk, hence my post.

That's all well and good, but have you bought him a phone?

We went to the Gov. Vet in Paphos, all info changed, very efficient, no fuss and NO CHARGE.
