With regards a personal doctor in the Peyia area, there are just two - Doctor Molly and Doctor Bartzou D Theodora

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding these 2 doctors
Dr Bartzou (at Peyia Medical Center where Dr Molly used to practice) is within walking distance, but Dr Molly only a very short drive
I know Dr Molly seems to be regarded well, but not heard anything regarding Dr Bartzou

As with all things it is difficult to make a recommendation, so if intending to register with one of the aforementioned doctors why not go along and have a chat and find out which one you feel meets your requirements. In the eventuality you are not happy with the service provided you can always change to another doctor.

There are also 2 personal Drs at the Evangelismos medical centre in Peyia on some days, http://www.evangelismos.com.cy/medical-centres/ Dr Silvia used to be at the Peyia medical centre and does 2 days in Peyia I believe.

I have a different personal doctor at the Evangelismos, but have seen Dr Silvia several times with an elderly relative and she seems very good. I would be happy to use her.

I chose to register at the Evangelismos so that I could have pretty much all of my treatment under one roof. It is down to personal preference, but that is why I chose not to use a private GP, i.e. one not connected to a hospital.

Are you a patient at the Peyia Evangelismos, if so who is your PD
When you say all treatment is under one roof, are you saying they do everything there from x-rays to scans, bloodtests, etc.
What nationality is Dr Silvia, does she speak good English

No, I go to the main hospital.

I go to the Evangelismos hospital for blood tests, x-rays, scans, cardio, diabetes and urology so far. In the next phase of Gesy I should be able to arrange surgery there too, if needed.

Dr Silvia's full name is Dr Sylvia Abu Samra Lazaridou, so I will let you work that one out, but to answer your question yes, she speaks almost perfect English. She is also a consultant in internal medicine as well as a GP.

Dr Molly is wonderful
She is a very caring thoughtful Dr
Who takes very good care of her patients
She is an excellent gp
With excellent English

If you go into to see Christina her practice manager
She will complete the GeSy registration for you

Highly recommended

Sorry, but this is Cyprus and aren't your comments about the Doctor rather racist?

Racist I am not, as anyone who knows me will tell you, it's our actions and feelings towards other races that determines if we are racist or not, I do not believe asking someone's nationality is in the slightest bit racist

Not my argument, but yes, this is Cyprus and Sylvia isn't a Cypriot name, so I would have thought that was an entirely reasonable question given that there aren't really many or any English doctors here.

Not sure whether you are trying to provoke an argument, or just jumping on the current bandwagon but IMHO your accusation is entirely uncalled for.

What nationality are you Alan? or am I being racist? :doh

What is wrong with asking what someone nationality is?

Whenever I have been asked what Nationality I am, I have never been offended and nor have I ever accused the person of being racist for asking, it's just a ridiculous thing to suggest !!

Silvia is a friend of mine which is why she's not my GP. I think she told me once her mother was Russian and her father was Nigerian. She's fluent in English and Greek as well as other languages and used to work at the BoC Oncology Centre in Nicosia!

If you want to register with her, bear in mind that on her business card and the Evangelismos website, her name is Sylvia. On the Gesy system she is shown as Silvia, so it is easy for her to show up as not exisiting. But she is definitely real as I saw her today!

We are sticking to Dr Molly
Who is close at hand every day in Peyia
She has even moved to Peyia to be close at hand for her patients

My friend is with Dr Sylvia ...who she loves
But very often she has to drive from Peyia to Evangelismos to be seen

When we are ill ...we want some one close by ....a few minutes drive away ..who knows us
And that being an excellent gp is their main job
Dr Molly also has an out of hours emergency number

So staying local to Peyia for us is important

I am not recommending any particular doctor (I have not even named mine), but I will make two comments. All the doctors I have dealt with have been good and they have all (including Sylvia) have given me their business card and told me to call any time of the day or night if it is urgent. Also, I get the argument about wanting to be close to a surgery, but my belief is that, if I am genuinely ill, I would rather go somewhere that they have a full range of specialists in the same building, including, if necessary, a fully stocked A&E department.

There are lots of things to consider and it looks like all the doctors mentioned are good. It's just a question of finding the one that best suits your needs.

I was and am not disagreeing ...there are some fabulous GESY GP,s to choose from

I just gave the reasons why.... for me and my family we chose our own Peyia GESY gp

The original post was asking about the two GESY drs in the Peyia area and recommendations of these two GESY drs

I was answering that question

Migmogs - I know and I am in no way criticising your post. I was merely adding some thoughts to try and help the OP make an informed decision.

No problem

I have to add that through the pandemic Dr Molly has been amazing
With personalized videos posted to us in her patient group on diet , taking vitamin D etc

Her research and dedication to us as her patients has been amazing

She has even moved to Peyia so as to be closer to her patients ...so that she could be on hand.

Sadly I cannot comment on the new Dr at Peyia Medical ....as I have never personally used her

Lots of great drs ....to choose from out there

Hope that the OP is able to make a great informed choice
