Can anyone answer these:
If you are entitled to travel here from the UK (this month) regarding flight pass can this only be applied for 24 hours before departure, or no less than 24 hours before departure
If you have traveled from cat C country and are in the group 'persons having special permission by the Republic' - can you have a test on arrival in Cyprus as opposed to in the country of departure (what is the current cost )
For those who have been tested on arrival to Cyprus, how long does the process take and do you get the results before leaving the airport
Do small children need to be tested - age 1 and 3

Hi,

I can help with some of your questions, having helped our visitors very recently.

The Flight Pass is supposed to be available three days before you travel, but they could only access it the day before. As I said on another thread, you can get confirmation from the site that you are able to travel at any time, but have to wait to submit the application.

If you are coming direct from a Category C country, you need the test but, as it is almost impossible to get it done before you travel, you can have it done at the airport at a cost of €60. If it is deemed that they have to go to a hotel pending receipt of the results, that will also be charged (the people I know that recently arrived all had residency here). Our friends came from the UK via Germany, which is Category A. Although they declared their full journey and country of origin, they were just taken with other passengers for a random test and were not charged for it and were sent on their way.

I know two lots of people who have come from the UK and neither of them had to wait at the airport. They were free to go, but had to go straight into self isolation. You should get a text message the following day with the test results.

The bit I can't answer is the children under 3, but the Flight Pass website may help with that one.

The rules seem to change regularly though, so please confirm what I have said with the authorities.

As far as I can discover, children can carry the virus the same as adults can, so it would make sense to test them too. It's only a swab test, so not particularly invasive.

It sounds like this is a significant issue for you, but if young children are coming in to the country and need the test, then they will receive it the same as the adults.

The greater concern for me would be their potential exposure on the plane as a 1 year old won't be able to wear a mask, so I guess it will be harder to keep small children safe while travelling, given that almost all new cases (apart from those walking across from the North) seem to be coming from people who have just flown in.

The uk people landing back into Cyprus at the moment on repatriation flights

Do they have to isolate for 14 days when once here?

Even with a negative virus test on landing?

Migmogs, yes, I believe that they do. Bear in mind that they don't get the result at the airport. Our visitors were given no specific instructions at the airport but the government instructions said that people arriving from Category C countries need to self isolate.

This is what the Cyprus Flight Pass website says:

"Category C

If you are travelling to the Republic of Cyprus from a Category C Country or if you have stayed/lived in a Category C Country within the past 14 days before your travel to the Republic of Cyprus or you will be a passenger on an international journey to the Republic of Cyprus via intermediate Countries of Category C with an overnight stay, you are allowed to enter in the Republic of Cyprus and to perform the COVID-19 test upon your entry to the Republic of Cyprus, only if you belong to the below passenger categories:

Cypriot citizens, permanently residing in the Republic of Cyprus and their family members (foreign spouses, their minor children and their parents).
Persons legally residing in the Republic of Cyprus.
Persons allowed to enter in the Republic of Cyprus under the Vienna Convention.
Persons, regardless of nationality, having a special permission by the Republic of Cyprus Persons, as defined under the infectious Diseases (Determination of Measures Against the Spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus disease) Decree (N.30), as amended.
You will be required to bear the cost of the COVID-19 laboratory test of 60 euros yourself, and pay any accommodation costs may arise (60 euros daily for single occupancy and 90 euros daily for double occupancy), If the test results will take a day or more to be completed, as well as transportation costs.

You will be required to remain under compulsory self-isolation for 14 days, according to the instructions and the precautionary and self-protection measures of the Ministry of Health, regardless of whether the result of the COVID-19 laboratory test is positive or negative, either at your residence or in case you do not have a residence in the Republic of Cyprus, at a place that will be indicated to you by the Republic of Cyprus."

Thank you for the clarification

I have heard about Expats arriving back and going straight out to restaurants

1 couple in the Peyia area told our local restaurant that they had flown in for a two week holiday
They where very open about what they have done
They must have yellow slips to get in

Let’s hope that these selfish idiots who are here until the 20th July
Have not been spreading the virus about ...all around them in supermarkets and shops

How many others are flying in...refusing to self isolate and breaking all of the rules!

What they have selfishly done makes me so angry :tickedoff

Hi everyone

I was just wondering if anyone had successfully applied for 'Special Permission' entry? If so how long did it take etc?

Cheers

Darrell

I see from the Cyprus Mail today that people arriving from Category B countries only need a test if they are older than 12! Nothing about Category C.
