There are many different versions ... even some a 69 cents each

My comment is not directed at the post above, but I cannot help but notice how much the price of these masks has increased. What were a few tens of cents six months ago are now €5 plus.

The pharmacists and supermarkets all say that they aren't profiteering, but someone is!

From what I have seen, most masks are at least 10 times the price that they were before all this started.

Even masks with built in filters still only cost a few cents to manufacture!!!

Our first mask that we bought here back in March cost us 19 euros each from the chemist across from Paps in Chlorakas ...masks where in short demand back then ...and we where grateful to be able to buy them ...they have been great masks ...just don,t have this new technology
We have also bought quite a few silly fabric cotton ones to help Chalkies Kitchen Charity.

Probably right about Chinese making from the pandemic

I haven.t seen the price rises...
though to be fare I haven,t been looking as got my masks sorted now

Though I was in Christianas Chemist in Peyia today and she was selling throw away masks for a 80 cents I think upto the ones with a filter that we bought back in March at 19 euros

But always unscrupulous folks out there

From the wholesale prices MAD had listed I can't see that the 'Chinese' are making bundles from this in terms of price hike, maybe volume. Theres manufacturers all over the world so singling the Chinese is unfair. Although I believe you were probably suggesting manufacturers as an ilk.

Another piece of mask information. My son flew out of Larnaca yesterday and was told when he got there that masks with built in filters were not allowed (no explanation as to why) and he would not be allowed on the plane with it. The airline gave him a disposable paper mask for the journey!
