Wow, hope nobody is hurt.

Presumably there is another car involved? Not easy to do that on your own.

Blimey, to put a car on its roof like that is very serious indeed, as other members have said hope it is just the car and no one seriously hurt, Dave please keep us informed.

My husband was told this morning

It was a lady driver

She had been texting when she lost control of her car

She suffered a broken arm and her child who was onboard was mildly injured as well

I remember many years ago I was driving my husband to work and there was black ice all the way along the country lanes we had to drive along.I was going about 25mph because it was so bad. This car behind me decided he could do better and overtook me,skidded, hit the grass verge and landed on its roof. I was shaking so bad that I could not move,my husband got out of the car and fell flat on his face as it was a skating rink.Amother car then pulled up to help and I could see them all trying to right the car.I screamed be careful he could be badly hurt and he was one of the ones trying to right it and got out without a scratch!!
Back on topic how can anyone ever think they can text and drive? Madness!!

I was told the same..she was coming down the hill and lost control, hitting the high kerb at the Wood & Good and rolled it.

If this is indeed the case, I will be interesting to hear if her insurance pay out....assuming she was insured :doh

Next question, Expat Or local Cypriot ?? either way if proven her insurance company will not pay out, irrespective of breaking the law she will have deemed not to have had full control of the car.

What if she had hit a pedestrian or other road user, shudder to think, all for the sake of a text, will folk never learn

You can see them texting and driving when you are driving behind them

Their heads are up and down ...one hand on the steering wheel ...texting
All nationalities

Pure dangerous madness

And yes deaths waiting to happen

Well I hope for her sake it wasn't her texting arm she broke ! I have seen someone in front of me lose control and hit the kerb , it appeared they dropped their phone and were struggling to pick it up.
I think when you switch on your engine the car should emit a signal inside the car which will switch the phone into " aircraft " mode, quite clearly many drivers are too irresponsible to be trusted. I don't understand this " plugged in " 24/7 mania !

OK, I can update this information...this is directly from the police it was a young male in the car on his own..he WAS texting and mounted the kerb, the car then 'rode up' the steal cable the holds the 'telegraph / power' pole and overturned. He was Cypriot

Wow! Good to know exactly what happened

Did he just break his arm?

Doesn,t bear thinking about how many other people could have been injured through his stupidity

So how did we get from a lady driver breaking her arm with a child onboard to just a male on his own now he has a broken arm.
