I know this is UK news and I will bow to Dave's decision if he decides to move it.

This is todays news and shocking, in my opinion it is down to political correctness due to black lives matter, sorry if this offends anyone but once you read this form your opinion.

An absolute tragedy
May this officer Rest In Peace

This was just waiting to happen
There is no longer any respect for our uk police officers at all

So truly sad

An absolute tragedy, but why wasn't he searched when they arrested him?

Beverley,

In my opinion it is due to political correctness due to the recent trend of black lives matter and civil liberties blah, blah, blah, if you read the article it tends make think that way because it says due to the recent furore he was not searched, you all may form your own opinion.

That Desk Sergeant was weeks off retirement, now the poor sole is dead and leaves a grieving family, does white lives not matter as well.

Sorry that is my opinion, you can either agree or disagree

:england :uk

Must admit that the bbc news online...has played the murder of this fine upstanding Officer down!

It is all so wrong

The BBC bleat and blow out of all context and fan the flames of BLM etc etc etc

But virtual silence on the cold blooded murder and violence towards our unarmed police officers
Police officers are virtually ignored
Where is the outpouring of outrage now?

What is this hidden agenda going on in our uk news reporting!

The world has gone completely mad!

The BBC ( and many other media sources ) have their own 'Agenda'
They do not seem to understand that "ALL LIVES MATTER" (Black, white ... or Ginger-pink !).
That valuable police officer seems to be of possible Maori ethnicity ... The gunman would not have realized that (and his identity is not being published :tickedoff ). I'm sure the media are aware of both facts !
It's time for MPs to support Priti Patel in getting the law amended .... 'life in prison' should mean 'LIFE IN PRISON' (If the criminal wants to commit suicide ... all the better for the law-abiding community :pow ).
Kneeling/flowers/candles/1 min. silence have no intrinsic value (except to say "Look at me" or for the pockets of florists and candle-makers) ...Stand up straight ... and protect the Emergency Services who try to protect all ! :huff
