Would appreciate recommendations for TV suppliers please (the service not the TV sets) - I appreciate that there are other threads on the subject but I am looking for recommendations based on current experience please.

Chris

We like many others use a MAGBOX. If you call into Computer SOS, in Chloraka opposite Paps. They will demo it for you. They usually let you have a lone one to try out.

Thanks - I have a magbox254 - I am looking for someone who provides a streaming TV service e.g. BBC1/2/3/4, Sky Sports, On demand video etc

I get all those on my magbox and a very good and reliable service it has been since I signed up for it just over 21 months ago. Computer SOS is the agent but I deal direct and pay a lower monthly subscription.

I have my subscription through Digby at Holitec. Price was about the best I could see and they have even better deals if you have more than 1 box.

Hi - first thing I should say is I am not very knowledgeable with technology, so I hope no-one asks me any techie questions about this.
We have been having trouble with the way we watch TV for sometime - buffering and sometimes getting the message we can’t watch BBC as not in UK - we use NORD VPN, which despite these issues has been the best VPN we have found.
We recently bought a new TV and decided to look at other options - we phoned various suppliers of Mag boxes etc. and were told that the systems would work better if we had 20mgb - unfortunately, we live in a village where CYTA can only supply us with 10mgb at this time.
I then found an advert about channelhopper TV - we didn’t need a box and could subscribe for one month for £10 - it’s £80 a year if you subscribe for the year.
It’s brilliant for us - no buffering, no limit on the time that catchup is available and very easy to navigate.
We don’t watch sky sports - I know you can view it through their system but it isn’t part of it - it explains it all on their website. So it might not be what you want Chris. But for £10 for a one month trial it might be worth at least taking a look.

Ask Cyta if they can give you a bonded connection, which is two lines synchronised together. If so, that would give you 20Mb.

Just had a look at their website and was concerned that some of their page links are flagged as potentially malicious content.

I was able to look at the channel list though and is is basically Freeview channels. If you want a full package with all the Sky sports, movies etc and the films and box sets, then you need to go down the Mag box route with a subscription to one of the providers mentioned above (or a different one as there are plenty to choose c from).

I have both Windows defender and ESET Nod antivirus on my laptop and it hasn’t flagged anything - but as I say, I am not very knowledgeable in this area so I can’t comment. It’s brilliant for me - but I only want basic UK TV channels with good catchup as we don’t watch much TV. But useful that you have flagged this for others to be aware.
