Cyprus Post on Tuesday announced there would be delays in incoming and outgoing mail due to the reduction in flights as a result of coronavirus restrictions.

The postal service said it had been informed by the German Post Office that due to an accumulation of a large volume of items at Frankfurt airport, some of the mail would be sent by ship as it is currently impossible to clear the backlog by air.

Cyprus Post said it would do its best to make every effort to process Christmas mail, which is set to add to the backlogs.
