Seen on FB this evening - note the wording has changed in most of the categories.
Awaiting English version on official PIO site:

1. Going to a pharmacy or for blood donation or a visit to a doctor or for a laboratory test for Covid-19
or for vaccination at vaccination centres
2. Go to a store to buy or supply essential goods/services, including take away
3. Go to a bank to the extent that electronic transaction is not possible
4. Absolutely necessary visits to government agencies or services of the wider public sector and local government
5. Trafficking for assistance to persons who are unable to self-serve or who have to protect themselves or are
in self-restraint and/or in places of compulsory confinement (quarantine) or visiting a residence
6. Movement for physical exercise or individual sport if limited to places where access is allowed
7. Going to a ceremony (eg funeral, wedding, baptism) by first and second degree relatives not exceeding
10 persons or for individual prayer
8. Declaration of any other purpose of movement which may be justified on the basis of anti-traffic measures (Note 2)
9. Transition to a company/organisation that is not suspended from work under the Decontamination Decrees

Can I ask
Has any one person been stopped or seen a police officer once to check these Sms texts?

We have filled them in every time we leave our home and will continue to do so as asked

But we have seen no one checking this lockdown at all!

Police checks have not appeared to be visible at all this lockdown

Like you, during this lockdown I have never been stopped and asked to prove I have 'permission' to be out.

Despite a few necessary visits to Paphos over the past few weeks, I have never seen a police 'checkpoint'

Yes, same as before I have seen combined police and army checkpoints on the roads into Paphos. Although I have not been stopped personally, I have seen plenty of people having their details checked.

I think we should all be grateful that we don't live in a police state, although from some of the comments on here (eg. snitching to the police on neighbours) makes me think some people would like to - until they find out what it's really like!

Sorry to disagree but, for the purposes of getting rid of the pandemic and in the light of all the idiots who think the rules don't apply to them, the authorities should be checking on people and, yes, we should be reporting people who are putting the rest of us at increased risk considering the numbers of people at high risk due to their age or illness.

I must also say that having the authorities checking that people are obeying sensible rules to ensure the safety of all does not constitute a police state. It is how a sensible democracy works.

For those using printed forms - and who wouldn't if old enough - you can get the latest official version from http://www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus/uploads/5022021_entypoB_revised2_ENGL.docx.pdf, however being thoroughly bored stuck at home, I have produced a Microsoft Word add-in template, that produces a printed version of the form for one or two people living at the same address. If you want to try it, you can download it from my web site. TemplateInstructions for use are in the zip file.

I am of the age where I could use a form
But why would I want to use a printed form?
It is so easy just to use an sms text
I have no problems with the government being able to use sms information to know how many people are out and about at one time and what they are doing

We are fighting a global pandemic!

I have no reason to suggest that KGs post is anything other than entirely genuine, but downloading Zip files is generally a very dangerous thing to do and Zip files are frequently used to hide malicious software, intentionally or otherwise. Word templates can also contain malicious code, so please download any such files with extreme care.

Personally I rarely download Zip files other than program updates from known sources. Anything else I ask for it to come unzipped.

Anti virus software should have the capability to scan inside compressed files, but care is still needed.

Once again, this post is not directed specifically at KG and I have no reason to suggest that his files are anything other than genuine.

If in doubt, send a text message - it's much easier than filling in a form!

If your comments are not directed at me and my zip file, and you have no reason to suggest that my files are harmful, why did you bother to make your comment?

Zip files are an industry standard method of compressing data files. They cannot 'hide' malicious software any more than can the filing system on your PC.

They are used simply to save download time for large files, especially when sent by e-mail. The contents can be seen by opening the Zip which Windows File Explorer can do without any risk. Microsoft Windows uses it for compressing folders without recourse to third party ZIP software.

I have been an IT professional for over 30 years, and for the last 20+ years have produced custom software for Microsoft Office, used by thousands of people around the world, including government departments, military and the US legal profession. From 2002 to 2019 until I dropped out of the program, I was a Microsoft MVP (most valued professional). All of my software is supplied in zipped format.

It would be beyond stupid to jeopardise my business reputation to release a template which contained malicious code.

I have no problem if you don't want to use the template, that I provided for free for the benefit of forum members who may wish to do so, but keep your crass ill informed comments to yourself.

I can't see what's wrong with the sms system, it only takes seconds to achieve and as it saves paper it's more environmentally friendly. Of course in principal I'm totally against this sort of unnecessary intrusion on our lives!

So, despite what I said, you have decided to take it personally. Given that you say you are an IT professional, are you really claiming that attached Zip files never pose a threat? They do and many malicious emails contain an attached zipped file, or a file that purports to be a zipped file.

If all you are offering people is a simple Word template, why do you need to compress it in the first place? Given internet speeds these days, it surely isn't necessary.

I am sorry if you felt, despite my saying twice that it wasn't directed at you, you have felt it necessary to respond in this way.

The unpleasantness in your comment is, however, directed at me and is unnecessary and I certainly would not class myself as ill informed.

Have a nice day.
