The health ministry announced that 17,496 vaccination slots will be opening on Wednesday for people aged 69 and above.

Appointments can be made from 9am onwards.

Three vaccines will be available at different centres across the Republic – Pfizer/Biontech, Moderna, and AstraZeneca.

The ministry urged the public to arrive at vaccination centres at the time of their appointment to avoid inconvenience and crowding.

By Monday, authorities had carried out 82,564 vaccinations.

Cyprus expects a rise in available vaccines this month and has opened large centres in all districts in addition to smaller ones.

Fully deployed, crews can carry out 15,000 vaccinations per day.

Excellent news!
At last vaccinations are getting through
Wonder when any news on those with serious health issues will be added for vaccination!

GESY have said they have an algorithm that checks all the information on GESY and identifies those with serious health issues...HOWEVER..I have seen no evidence of this

I am classed as medically vulnerable but Gesy says I am not eligible for a vaccination.

My husband is the same Effsie

There was a list that the Health Authorities where going to add bit by bit to the vaccinations lists ...out of order to ages

They started with those who where housebound and those that had had transplants
But not heard anything else since

The problem with the algorithm system ...is that lots of information on health issues is missing on the GESY system ...like when vaccinations given...illnesses..specialists seen in the uk and their baring before moving here

Years ago as all will remember who have lived here a while....nothing was written down at all by GP,s ...you saw a GP got treated and nothing was recorded ...you had tests, mri,s etc etc and nothing was recorded

I always remember at the old Peyia Medical Centre that uk GP,s came in and taught the Cypriot GP,s how to fill in ongoing patient information and case notes onto their computers

And of course for Dr Molly,s patients ....all of that information collected over the last years was lost when Peyia Medical Centre closed for a while and Dr Molly,s Centre opened

So health histories are sparse and definitely not full

I am assuming similar for all expats and Cypriot people also but could be wrong

Looking at my own and my husbands GESY portals... most of our health histories and explanations are missing and only paints part of a picture

So not sure without a GP referring them how the MOH can find those who need the vaccinations with ill health!

When we signed up to GESY our Personal Doctor asked us to bring all our medical records to our first consultation with her and duly entered the most important data onto the system - hence important to check your Beneficiary Record to see exactly what is recorded in it.
