Just got back from shopping to find our street full of cars!

The house opposite is having a drinks party with four guests.

The house next to them has the whole family round, including some from Nicosia who will almost certainly stay until at least Monday.

There is also a further car visiting another neighbours house, but I am not sure which one.

So far as I know you can have two visitors, but only first or second degree family and any visitors have to be back in their registered home by curfew time.

Ever since this started I have done my best to follow the rules and try and keep me and everyone else safe, but it makes my blood boil the others seem to care so little. Hardly surprising that the number of cases is going up again!

Rant over (and before anyone suggests it, the police aren't really interested in coming out to where we are - so I will just have to rely on karma)!

And now, having had a look through Facebook I can see all manner of photos that people are posting, in Cyprus, of them having dinner parties with their mates.

If we carry on like this, we will never get rid of it!

It has been permissible to have four visitors to the home for a few weeks.

If it bothers you so much then do something about it.

My basic point is that it should bother all of us. Seemingly you are okay with it?

I think sadly Effsie ...everyone is just getting so covid exhausted, after a long winter lock down
I thought ...though could be wrong... that you could have 4 people around to your home at the moment
Supposed to be family members ...but I am sure that some expats who have no family here have probably used this ...and these numbers to interact.

But yes hard...when you are doing your best to stay safe

The four persons are not restricted to family members but people were advised to keep to the same 'bubble'.

However, as with many of the directives, it is open to wide interpretation.

I'd just not get stressed about it. It's well known that stress weakens your immune system.

If anything bothers me I do something about it - and I carry on until I get a result.

How do you know the police aren't really interested? Have you actually bothered to call them?

Cyprus was left stunned on Sunday night after a video went viral showing hundreds of people partying in Limassol with zero distancing and many not wearing a mask as they danced around and socialised.

According to late reports, there were 1,500 people there, Poliits said, citing police. Restaurants in the area were also found to be open and have been fined, the report said.

The video that surfaced in the evening left people on social media shocked and horrified the rest of the country, seeing people dancing to music and milling around in a tight crowd as the video below from Phileleftheros’ YouTube channel shows.

Limassol should be in a TOTAL LOCKDOWN. The cases of COVID-19 are rising there at a rapid rate daily. :banghead

I think that there is going to be a lot of family and friends.... get togethers today for kite flying day, all over the island.

Good news! They will all be outside ...same as yesterday in Limassol...so viral load will be lighter than in being inside each other’s houses

Time lapse as always will show if large surge in any more cases, hospitalizations and any rise in deaths.....especially as uk variant now found by genome testing in 25% of new cases!
Or if by all being outside ...no surge happens at all!

Stay safe all

I shouldn't worry, I am sure the Government will have told the virus to leave well alone today - on their Green Monday Day

Do you think they really would consider lockdown when according to the press the President lives there as well as several other members of parliament

I wear a mask and social distance, I know some don't wear a mask or wear it in the style " Willy out of pants" and don't distance , these people I keep a extra distance from just to be safe !
P.S. many of these people that wear a mask with their nose sticking out should look in a mirror :smilielol
